According to Transfer Market Chelsea's marrket value is less €900m. Just over a third of what Roman is asking. No one will pay £2b.

This is probably better informed....

I'd be staggered if the club is really valued anywhere near to £2 billion. If you ignored that it continually makes a loss and is reliant upon player sales and loans as well - income that UEFA are going to outlaw, it still isn't worth that. They don't even own the land that the stadium is built on.

When Abramovic found out how much the stadium was actually going to cost, he went out to the Chinese to look for funding because they can't borrow legit money given the debt that they already have and that they always make a loss. Not to mention that the owner isn't welcome to do business in the country that the club is in. He came up empty and that's when the stadium build was announced as dead. How the Americans can have come up with that alleged valuation is beyond me. It's a very strange story, which is probably why it's in The Standard.

Chelsea and Liverpool both look stronger than last season in my opinion.
City look very good but I am not sure if they look as strong as they were but it is hard to tell this early.
Arsenal are also difficult to judge this early.
The next 2 matches will be important indicators to our strength this season.
Last season we lost to united and drew with Watford so it would be good to improve on that.

I once saw Oxford play Barnet at Underhill in League Two and one of their chants was "Football league, you're having a laugh".
Not particularly original, but I did smile when they went down to non-league at the end of the season.

Did Jamie Vardy intentionally get suspended so that he wouldn't have to face his old club, Fleetwood?
No, of course not. He's just a bellend.
