fair play to them for fighting back, but in the first 20minutes I thought 'How did these play so well against Uniturd?'. They should have been playing for pride after half time. If we keep letting teams back in the game and not finishing them off (same applies to Brighton), we won't always be so 'lucky'.

That argument never makes any sense. Sure if we play like that.. but history suggest we won’t. Because we didn’t play that way against them last season when we beat city... same way Leicester won’t play that way against teams if they did they’d be challenging top 4 this season.

We were not great. Salah is out of sorts and firmino isn't playing like we know he can. The keeper had a moment of madness and midfield struggled for a large part.

The loss of buvac having an effect?

    Don't think so.

The fitness coach is there so conditioning should be fine.

I'm talking from attack perspective. We don't look as threatening.

Imo we just are not pressing.

    Take today.

Milner would normally join the 4 man press from cm. He never did.

Mane was consistently miles deep in our own half. So it was firmino and mane on own.

This is why I said there was no press.

Firmino first chance was just really poor shot. Great position.

Salah follow up was desperatemy poor. If he right foots it's in any way he scores. He goes to left and misses target by a yard or more.

Salah got it and had firmino left, but **** s up a little and then reverse passes towards Milner who's not running as he does expect ball.

They rush stuff or for example on one occasion salah had Morgan back off to run at but was left wing. His eyes should have lit up at the prospect but instead he held it up.

Imo they are not losing this on training ground. They are sleep walking.

We need to see more busy players, perhaps a few early subs like salah got this week will wake them up cos kieta and shaqiri were very busy when they came on.

Klopp was extremely slow to sub on v Brighton. Maybe this will wake salah up.

Imo salah, firmino are about 70% at best. Keita is getting used to prem, fabinho has not been seen. Robertson and vvd are very very good, taa average.

Alisson ruined all his good work and I fully expect MOTD to savage him tonight and pull out clips thry ignored from Brighton game. He was so assured before it but team then showed it's fragility by not passing to him after for a while.

They all need to rely on each other but I just wonder where the press is at. Why are mane and Milner not going?

I think a lack of threat has come down to our passing. It has been shocking in every game, great chances and opportunities wasted by sh!t passes.

    https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/314766-alisson-liverpool-leicester-reaction

“I am angry that I made a mistake that put the team in a difficult situation,” the Brazil international told ESPN Brasil.

“When one person makes a mistake, it affects everyone and everyone fought back together. We have to improve still but the result is what matters at the moment.

“It was bad judgement, I made a mistake reading the play. I didn’t get a very good pass [and] we talked about that in the dressing room and I spoke to Virgil. It wasn’t a good pass but I could have just kicked it long.

“I wanted to keep playing and keep the possession [and] now everyone is going to analyse that. I’m not going to be stupid and make the same mistake. We have to learn from our mistakes.

“It is part of my game [playing out from the back with his feet] but I am not going to be arrogant to stand here and say I’m going to keep doing it. We have to learn from our mistakes.”

Lively when he came on. Surprised he didn't feature in the previous two games.

I think Al needs to look at it on video and not even mention van dijk.

    I looked again at it.

    1. gomez is far too slow on ball. he invites 3 pressers and just about retains it. he should have moved it far faster.

    2. Henderson gets ball from gomez and plays a poor ball to vvd. in air.

3..vvd is too casual and after controlling and slow.inviting pressure passes poorly..

now that ball is across alisson on his right foot.

from here this poor passage of play becomes ridiculous.

first he may not be comfortable on that foot I don't know.. so the right thing to do is long ball down right channel for salah and taa who can been seen from.camera angle.behind goal as being ready to compete for it

he takes a touch. this touch cuts his angle down. I can forgive this if he is not as comfortable.on the right. he still has a bit of angle.to right wing but the stand it right there. the right call now is smash it in row z if you have to and reset the team.

he is then clearly seen awkwardly trying to get feet right. it mustve been so easy to read for gray....

Now.. I utterly fail to see just what precisely he thought would happen next.

if he had beaten gray by some miracle (given how bad he looked trying to sort himself out for the turn) just where was the pass to retain possession??????

He would be on his left foot with forward behind him facing toward own goal and at best vvd is coming back with 2 pressing him.

    there is NO pass.

he needs to give his head a wobble as tobes woyld say.

999/1000 that poor enough directed back pass is forgotten instantly. alisson turned it into an excuse there.

the only thing I think alisson might have done is gone further away from goal and tried to draw foul or hit it off gray..
But those are also huge risks.

He's direct, and gives us another option. Could turn out to be a shrewd buy.

He seems eager anyway. im glad he came on when he did rather than never getting a shout v Brighton.

might scare salah into harder work

Shaq looked up for it and interested and a lot of what he did helped win us the match through possession/clock management, hope he keeps it up

the whole point of what i was saying last year and in summer was someone has to push the forwards not just be a sub. if we sign someone they have to potentially replace a player.

right now shaqiri should be pushing salah for his place and sturridge for firmino as neither is doing that well. mane if anything has been excellent.

now is the test for this. if salah just keeps playing without putting a lot.more work in then that's not what klopp has done.

Out attack atm is Mane plus two others. booby and Mo are NOT sacred cows. Can't see why we spent over £100m on midfielders this summer, and then played the same midfield that, let's be honest, were hosed by Moric and Kroos in May.
