A new CB would be nice. A new LB would be vital. It would be great if we got someone equally comfortable on either side so can fill in as RB.

We don't really have true backup to Firmino.

If we're getting greedy... A defensive mid or utility player (can we clone Milner and get another younger Milner).

Id be happy with Pulisic. Not just because he's a decent player... But it will make Liverpool more accessible here in the US. <laugh>

Even the American Liverpool fans started cheering at the game this summer when Pulisic scored. They're very nationality biased.

tbh a squad is never done is it?

We have what we have. in general we can probably rest players as we go and be ok. like stick in shaqiri and sturridge if the miracle continues and be ok for a game. midfield is loaded up.

we need to be lucky with Moreno. he is capable of doing the most idiotic things but if a team has no right winger then he could be played and.maybe we don't give a pen away or handy goal.

if we are lucky with injuries and only need give a rest to players as we go on a rotational basis the it's a good squad.

players like gomez, lovren, Henderson, Milner, windy, shaqiri give us huge flexibility in terms of being able to fulfil several times for the manager. lallana not so much any more.. even fabinho cpuld play 3 positions.

imo if we had one more flexible forward rather than solanke we might have a real chance.

Don’t forget Fabinho can play RB as cover so we’re well stacked there with Clyne as well.

Another LB would be handy though, and someone that can replace Firmino like for like would be perfect however finding someone like that would be tricky.

Not really. Ings was done for us, certainly not a stand in for Firmino.

We need a starting quality RCB

Trent and Clyne are adequate cover at RB.

Robbo and Moreno is adequate for LB.

We need a starting quality attacking midfielder (in the midfield 3).

Fast, direct wide man as cover.

No, and I'm not unhappy with any of our 1st tean squad left really... Besides Moreno, but we can certainly improve.

I don't think there will ever be a season when at the end we say. "You know what, this is perfect, I hope we don't do anything in the transfer window".

He wasn't really given a chance. Plus Firmino will play the majority of games. Who's going to sit on that's bench that's better than Ings? Even Danny didn't want to do it!

If they are good enough they will never just be bench options. Look at city

Think he had promise. He just lost momentum too many injuries in his most important years when he was supposed to be breaking out. Not good enough now, but he had potential.

We'll, he'll prove the championship bit wrong this year with Saints (despite me tipping them to finish bottom).

We're simply not in a position to have twenty-two top quality player, no where near tbf. We've still got room for improvement in the first eleven ffs

I can't honestly say I've checked how many games he played for us, it's just a general impression from what I saw of him but Ings was no better than Origi - so there you go Origi can do as good a job on or from the bench. I agree with Milk on Ings, so much unfulfilled potential. Nice lad, wish him well.

Not having that. Ings is a better option than Origi. Origi is ****e, Benteke levels of ****e!

Reality is, neither are good enough. Point is, we can't get someone that is deemed good enough, they won't come to sit on the bench.

Nor do I think we should be signing someone to sit on the bench. We should always sign a player that we believe will improve the first team. The squad will take care of itself.

However, I doubt we can afford a Firmino after what we spent this summer. Plus there are other areas of the first eleven that need addressing first #thepoint

in seriousness I take this to mean city have players who can play not a solanke or a moreno who you go oh god...

not that we need the same class of really expensive player just sat there.

the reality is there's no point comparing ings to firmino. he's an honest lad and all that and would work hard but the reality is he would miss more chances than anything else. you.cant blame it on injuries either cos he was the same before... miss the target or fire it right at keeper.

I think everyone respects the lad and liked him for his attitude and ethic but in the end yes gone to a club at his level and hopefully he can have a good career from here

lfc need someone to push firmino for his place not play second fiddle and we should never assume anyone has their place.
