Fans forum is tomorrow night and what sort of questions will be asked? I've got a ticket but not 100% if I'm going yet, think there's one or two others who are going though so thought it would be interesting to see what matters to different people.
No A few things I'd like to know: -Where's the points scheme we were told would come in after promotion to the top flight? -What's the clubs position on safe standing? If supportive will it be made public? Also if supportive, have they done any studies into installing it in a section of SMS? -Did Gao secure the club against loan to fund the purchase? -Can the club financially handle a relegation, should it happen? -Is there still a lot of unrest in the academy from both players and their parents/guardians? -How is a decision reached regarding what allocations we take for away games?
Wonder if they'll ban a list of topics? They're obviously hoping that rolling Saints fan Ings out that people will focus questions mainly on him.
I’m being a total geek and can’t wait to hear what’s said, I fully expect there will be a lot if guff given out by Ralph and Les (esp. Ralph).... but if they think after quite a few years without a forum and decidedly iffy decisions over the last few years that they’re gonna get an easy ride.... they may well be wrong.
I doubt they will give clear answers on financial matters....expect fluff if anyone raises such a question.
They pre-screening questions? I assumed they would, as most organizations like to stage-manage these things to some extent. Keeps people from asking whether they're lizard people in cahoots with the Andromedans or the like if nothing else. Yeah I'm sure they will too which is another reason why I'm having second thoughts about going, it's not just that but I'm on nights so it means I will have to get up earlier and then go straight to work from there and then buy some food out etc. If I go I might ask about the £1 booking fee on a £2 ticket Will it be on Youtube do we think?
By the way, I would genuinely consider doing that for a laugh but it would involve revealing my identity to the entire forum
Doubt you'd be able to ask more than one question and anything controversial would be interrupted with waffle long before you'd made your point.
Yeah I know that was a (in the main) unrealistic list but it was just a few ideas I thought I would throw out there.
Come on, we all know your betting history. You will be the one in the Pompey shirt, covered in comedy tattoos, wearing a "just married" sash, and holding hands with a lovely lady called Dave.
Someone should simply ask: what position do you think we will finish this season? No bullshit, just one number? Another one for me is: What is Gao’s drive for buying us? is his desire to be owing a club that is challenging at the top? Is it a business venture? Is it a global marketing excercise for him and his companies? Is this a hobby? (Lots if questions in one, but just laying out the general feel of the first one?
Yeah, this is why fans forums are a bad idea. Either old chestnuts pretty much covered in the past or none of our business really.
If asked where we will finish, I bet the answer will be that the club doesn't like to set targets or limits....but if pressed they envisage a top ten finish. Our guess is as good as theirs basically.
If the club still would have made a sizeable profit without fans through the gate why are ticket prices so high?
