If I was Lawell I wouldnt give Rodgers two bob to spend and obviously he hasnt been impressed by Congerton either.

The upside of Rodgers is that hes made players we already had like McGregor, Forrest and Ajer much better, because thats what hes good at. He bought a lot of ****e at Liverpool for big money and hes bought a lot of ****e here for peanuts. Lawell is a tight bastard and he should have got the McGinn deal done but Rodgers is equally culpable for this terrible result.

The huns first 11 now looks quite solid, albeit with a lack of quality in the final third, and they are all pulling in the same direction with a hungry manager who was a great player. Rodgers has had it all his own way against complete clowns like Pedro and Warburton managing a club in disarray. For the first time this season he will be up against something resembling a challenge, and if the team is playing and dropping points against poor teams like last season, turning up for the big games only wont be enough. The issue with him and Lawell is only going to end one way, and thats with Lawell winning.
