I couldn't agree with you more jonny, we made a huge profit from MMs signings plus a further £1M from Man City for the boy Knight who cost us nothing at all, we then identify players vital to us strengthening the squad and start penny pinching to such an extent that we don't get them.
We get rid of Tommy Smith followed by Webster so now we need to loan a CB! Players such as Carter Vickers are great to have at the Club but they they belong to another team so no long term benefit to us whatsoever.
It's a hell of a gamble to put the future of the Club into lower league players hands and I hope it pays off but hey ho Evans has made a few millions so all is well?

Yeah i forgot about the £1 Million we got for the young lad!

So that's what £12 Million in player sales this window and only £4.5 Million spent?

A nice £7.5 Million for ME!

Even if you take out the £6 Million he pumps in annually that still £1.5 Million!

You're missing one point Warky. He may make that money available for loan wages and January transfers. The transfer window slammed shut but I think we did good business all round. If they know Waghorn and Garner are going to be sold earlier in the summer then perhaps they can get others in, but they can't buy players and then be £6m or £7m down.

The central point I am making is that after years of austerity Evans could easily afford to shell out a few extra million for the new manager to invest in decent players. To lose a deal due to an extra £400k is laughable in the grand scheme of things! A budget of £10 Million invested wisely would have been sensible. <ok>

Sorry but I don't agree Warky. I think it's a lot of money for a ****e player and Hurst obviously thought the same or the deal would have been done.

Because we need options up front. At the end of the day, we got Jackson for almost a million less than was being asked. If you don't think we should negotiate and just pay whatever's asked we'll have even less money to buy the right players when they become available.

Probably overstating things a tad, considering our outgoings had some money going back to clubs in sell ons. I've seen this breakdown floating around soical media and TWTD and I think it's fairly on the money. Roughly I think it works out something like:

Outgoings
Waghorn - £4.5m (after Rangers have their fee)
Webster - £2.8m (after Portsmouth have their fee)
Garner - £1.25m (did Rangers have a sell on clause for this deal too? Wouldn't surprise me.
Knight - £1m
World Cup money - £400k
Total - Approximately £9.9m

Incomings (excluding agency fees, sign on fees, and wages)
Nolan / Nsiala - £2m
Jackson - £1.6m
Edwards - £750k
Harrison - £750k
Donacien - £750k
Chalobah / Edun - previous Premier League loans cost us about £1m each with fees and wages, let's say these two came to £1m
Plus the £1.4m he ploughs in to fund the academy
Total - Approximately £8.25m

So we've got shy of £2m left, as an optimistic number.

That may well be true Nuggetts and I dont dispute those figures but what I do take issue with is Evans not investing any extra money! Its not as though he cant afford it! <ok>

If he cant afford it or wont put any extra in then he should sell up!

So you are happy with the level of cash we are spending?

Yes I think we've had a brilliant transfer window. While everybody else is throwing cash around for very average players from the Championship and Premier League I'd rather we put hard work into scouting and knowledge and unearthed some gems from the lower leagues and abroad and bringing through talent from the Academy.

I think Fulham have done absolutely terrible business this transfer window. £18m for Mitrovic is absolutely bananas.
