He very well could be sold abroad still. The European market is not closed.

the interesting thing about this is that United are not the pull they once were for players...5 yrs ago we'd never have kept him cos he'd have kicked off and we'd had been forced to sell like with Carrick, Modric, Keane and Berbatov (think Bale was slightly different).
