We offered a very fair price for a dodgy 29yo and the player wanted the move. Levy wanted his few dollars more and is now stuck with an unhappy player running down his contract and who can leave for half the offered price next year

the interesting thing about this is that United are not the pull they once were for players...5 yrs ago we'd never have kept him cos he'd have kicked off and we'd had been forced to sell like with Carrick, Modric, Keane and Berbatov (think Bale was slightly different).
