Ings is basically Shane Long with better finishing (slightly). Can’t say I’m super pumped about it. He’s also injury prone.

However, it is an improvement in Long..

He wouldn't have been my choice at the beginning of the Summer but rhat was only down to fitness concerns. If he stays fit could end up being a great bit of business for us.

He's a local lad too which is a bonus <ok>

Clever stuff this. As a similar type of player to Austin he will be the ideal man to keep him company in the medical room.

Or they'll have their time injured at different times. They're very similar players.

He's really not, he's more of an Austin type striker than Long.

Ings doesn't get injured like Charlie. Charlie is out for three months here, four months there. When Ings gets injured, he misses entire seasons. Less movement in and out of the physio room.

I suspect it puts an end to the hopes of anyone wanting to see Gallagher get a go this season. Still three weeks to loan him to another Championship club, as I suggested yesterday.

Hold on, don't be unfair to Charlie, he's played about 4x as much as Ings in the last 3 seasons. Ings has barely kicked a ball. No one knows what he can do.

I was happy with Ings a month ago, so this is good news for me, maybe him and Chaz together can get a whole season of games between them! (19 each)..

And they have played together before of course.

Sit and wait then to see if the Ings deal goes through ,
What does everyone think if he signs?

If he signs, I will expect him to reignite his career and fulfill his potential.

If he doesn’t, I will think we have dodged a bullet not getting stuck with another injury prone striker who will probably never make the grade.
