Questions re. the 'Banning' Thread ....

Rather painstakingly I've taken the time to review all posts made by Glory since last Friday up until his ban.

There is not in my opinion any posts or a collective theme running through his posts which would be worthy of a ban. Certainly he has posted far far worse in the past and somehow got away with it.

If he has been banned because of private messages sent to mods then can somehow explain how that works.

Is the message not private ?

If you don't like or agree with the message(s) would you not just delete or ignore.

How can a series of disagreeable messages run to 19 pages before it's decided enough is enough.

Why would you respond for 19 pages when you're aware that the person you're corresponding with is ill in hospital. He even posted how well he'd done not to push things too far given his circumstances.

If there is irrefutable proof of multiple accounts then why not state which is the fake non de plume.

It just doesn't sit well with me.

Given there has been a very recent change in the moderation team and then a ban for one of our most controversial posters suddenly occurs I still feel questions need to be asked and answered.

We are asked to trust the process as though Glory has committed some sort of heinous crime which is now sub judice and we mustn't interrupt the process.

No, I'm not buying it as it just doesn't feel right.

I'd say Jammy IMO it's been a build up since 2012, not just since last Friday. He's also gone onto other team supporters sites just to cause ****. I'd say it's not only some of our own who have complained about him but also a lot of others from different teams boards. I've had many a run in with Glory, but have met him many times and like you know he's a different bloke. So I'm not knocking him in my comments. I'm just saying what might be the reason or reasons why he's banned. Hopefully things will be sorted and his get back on here and his health will improve...

Evening TC I’ve just looked at the conversation thread, it’s on 22 pages now and been closed. Why would I lie about how many pages when there are two other moderators involved?

The contents were a mixture of concerns, opinions, votes on subjects and a few members PMs that they’d given the okay to share

Nobody gets banned unless it’s a unanimous vote, none of us fought Glory’s corner and said no don’t do it.

No idea how it falls under GDPR when checking an IP address so I googled it and found this... “An IP address in isolation is not personal data under the Data Protection Act, according to the InformationCommissioner” To be honest that’s for those at the top to concern themselves about not me, Bucks or Elland.

I’m going to reply to Jammy then I’ve nothing more to add, like I said before, Glory through a third party has threatened legal action, it’s a non starter as far as I am concerned but I know he’ll be reading this and I’m not playing those games

Probably needs the money to finish his pool at his Villa........

Had a few texts from Steve today, let’s call him that not Glory because he is a real person not just a forum villain.

Nothing untoward but he asked me to copy the mods into a pm from the weekend when he told me Jammy had walked. It started with me fizzing about deleted posts (the reason for Jammy walking) and I was open with the mods about this but ended with a bit of a shrug of the shoulders from both of us acknowledging that a ban may not be the worst thing in the world because this place is addictive whether any of us admit it or not, and none of us want to admit to being addicts.

Why am I saying this here? Because it was his PM and either I can’t invite others to see what was said, it is locked because he is banned or I am just too stupid to know how to do it (entirely possible). Whichever, he is not crying about his ban, he knows it may be for his own good.

All the bluster about legal action is just that, he wouldn’t do it (he hasn’t said that), because he is actually a decent human being for all the knob end traits he loves to display on here.

Guys, Steve has health problems none of us would want, be careful not to jump on his downfall too quickly - whatever you post on the Internet is there for all to see for a very long time. Just saying, be wise about what you have to say right now

Great post Marcos. I was also aware of Steve’s health problems. I’ve met the guy several times and to be honest, when replying to him online, I think as I’m replying to Steve rather than Glory. Same goes for the lads I’ve been lucky to meet, wj, Chesh, yourself and others. Personally I think life’s too short for all this banning stuff and while I see the need for the mods, I just wonder have they become over zealous in their approach. Back in the day I hated school. Wouldn’t like this place to start resembling that

Forgive me Marcos, I’m going to use Steve the guy many of you have met in real life and Glory, the Internet poster.

I’m probably into double figures in PMs where posters have told me Glory was a xyz on the forum but in real life he is a great guy. Do I believe them YES 100% Everyone of you who have met him will be judging his ban on Steve the person, the guy you’ve met at the games, you’ve all been fortunate to meet the genuine real man. Steve if you’re reading this, I know I’d probably get on fine with you face to face despite our differences but sadly I’ve only experienced Glory.

I voted for the ban along with the others based on Glory the forum poster, I 100% respect those totally against bans of any kind I really do but I also respect the quieter posters who find Glory overwhelming. I’d like to add here that Elland was quite cut up about this, he has met Steve but as a moderator he has also had to deal with Glory.

Was it an easy decision for my vote, yes, I’m not going to lie, it was easy as I’ve only met Glory and I find him troublesome. Can I cope with his mischief, yes I probably can but I’d rather have an easier life, I’d prefer coming to this forum to enjoy Leeds chatter but I was asked to be a moderator, I accepted and I received quite a rough ride from Glory who later sent me a PM claiming it was banter and congratulations I passed the test, he thought I’d jack it in. It wasn’t a pleasant experience, my initial thought was who the f... does he think he is testing me.

Nearly every voice on here against the ban have met Steve, not many are saying much who’ve only experienced Glory. I honestly try to treat everyone with respect but when it’s only one way or I feel it is then it becomes an easy decision for me to stop.

I’m really sorry to Steve, to those that have met him and those against bans no matter what but there are those who don’t speak out that have only met Glory too, nobody can be right or wrong, Glory was his own worst enemy and I do feel those tolerant of Glory would have been less tolerant if they’d never met Steve the genuine guy. It’s just a shame Steve never posted as Steve

Also, Glory had a habit of attacking anyone on this forum, majority of his posts/comments/replies were swimming in negativity imo.

As many of you know, Glory went out of his way to attack me, maybe it started when I told him he wasn't the king pin on this forum, who knows, but it was always water off a ducks back to me.

Glory had a bad habit of saying "it's just banter" "it's just my humour" and things along the lines of "I was just joking" etc etc, no it wasn't, and no he wasn't. I personally never bought into any of those things he'd say cos I just didn't believe him.

During his bouts of attacking me, he once sent me a PM having a go at someone on this forum, won't mention his name cos he knows who he is, we've spoken about it, but he was pandering up to me to have a go at this other person. Firstly, I couldn't understand why he was pandering up to me, and secondly, why isn't he saying it to the person in question; I just told Glory that such and such can hold his own. He also did the same before that one about someone he said he was friends with. Both occasions saw Glory being two faced and stabbing others in back, I have no respect whatsoever for two faced people.

Me and Glory have never got on, that's no secret, and anyone is free to pass these comments on to him, but I would never call for him to be banned as I don't think anyone should be banned unless the circumstances are very extreme and way way out of order.

TBH, I don't know what Glory said or did, but obviously the MODS thought it was very extreme and way over top. Mods who have this forum at heart will always have my vote.

Chesh, the 22 pages was an ongoing saga and trying to de tangle the web that was behind erics and others accounts. BRB has openly admitted it was a mistake and was rectified within 24 hours.

Judge, jury and executioner...case closed.

Only Eric's personal intervention and brb believing him resulted in a reversal of the decision.

Any criticism of brb is harsh I'm my opinion as he only became involved due to our mods.

Once he realised there had been an error he immediately rectified it.

Rustic has since confirmed you falsely linked Eric and glory together (obvious now) and that multiple accounts are now not the reason for the decision taken to ban.

We therefore have no valid reason for Glory's ban remaining in place and as I stated yesterday I've reviewed all Glory's posts since Friday and can see no valid reason for a ban at this time. If he has offended you in private messages then they are personal and not on the forum and you would be entitled and advised to block him from sending you any future communications.

My conclusion is that you the mods have decided the forum will be a better place without Glory.

I believe that to be beyond your remit as moderators.

No one's perfect and we all make mistakes,I believe this became personal between 2 people who don't like each other,Glory and ristac,and led to ristac looking for things that didn't exist,do I believe Glory would be banned if ristac hadn't done this,no I don't,do I think Glory needed to wind it in,yes I do.I get on with all of you mods and think you do a hard job well,but I hope ristac's a quick learner,and not to let personal views cloud his views in the future,anyway what's happened has happened,going to try and keep off here a bit if I can,as its lost a lot of the fun IMO
