Questions re. the 'Banning' Thread ....

To Ristac,

As I understand it mods operate by a majority decision on issues such as this.

So by definition it's impossible for you to be solely responsible for these particular decisions and bans. Additionally you have stated the vote was unanimous so again you are not wholly but partly responsible.

Do I think you argued for leniency or a cooling off period given how the weekend had been. No I don't believe that would have been the case and that of course is entirely up to you to moderate as you see fit.

What I did find strange were the posts in the Saloon, now boggers thread. Because I read them as they were posted last night I'll be honest I thought WTF they think Glory is Eric and as I do the late shift on here nothing could have possibly been further from the truth in my opinion.

As the conversations have progressed on here throughout the day there seems to be a different view now. Which again is fine, perhaps new information comes to light and so on and so forth.

The bit I do find really intriguing though is that now it appears the supermods have either the same or greater capabilities than MI6. When I signed up I was asked to provide an email address. Fairly easy to set up a new unique one up for the sole purpose, reply to the verification email and never use again. You're also asked for DOB which again can be false if you wish as no one could possibly check and your team of preference if any. That's it, I know because I checked a couple of hours ago, it really is that basic. Then if you choose to use a VPN you can choose from multiple ip addresses and change location whenever you feel like it. So I'm not sure that from my once used email address my fake DOB and my hidden true location anyone would actually be able to find anything out.

So given as Marcos posted earlier that Eric is one of the most liked posters on here, judged by volume of likes to posts then it just seems totally bizarre that some undercover espionage plot has now been discovered. That's assuming it's way more than Eric having the temerity to actually have a bit of fun on multiple forums perhaps using different aliases etc.

If you are able to address all those points it would be most appreciated and as far as I'm concerned will be the end my involvement in this matter.

Forgive me Marcos, I’m going to use Steve the guy many of you have met in real life and Glory, the Internet poster.

I’m probably into double figures in PMs where posters have told me Glory was a xyz on the forum but in real life he is a great guy. Do I believe them YES 100% Everyone of you who have met him will be judging his ban on Steve the person, the guy you’ve met at the games, you’ve all been fortunate to meet the genuine real man. Steve if you’re reading this, I know I’d probably get on fine with you face to face despite our differences but sadly I’ve only experienced Glory.

I voted for the ban along with the others based on Glory the forum poster, I 100% respect those totally against bans of any kind I really do but I also respect the quieter posters who find Glory overwhelming. I’d like to add here that Elland was quite cut up about this, he has met Steve but as a moderator he has also had to deal with Glory.

Was it an easy decision for my vote, yes, I’m not going to lie, it was easy as I’ve only met Glory and I find him troublesome. Can I cope with his mischief, yes I probably can but I’d rather have an easier life, I’d prefer coming to this forum to enjoy Leeds chatter but I was asked to be a moderator, I accepted and I received quite a rough ride from Glory who later sent me a PM claiming it was banter and congratulations I passed the test, he thought I’d jack it in. It wasn’t a pleasant experience, my initial thought was who the f... does he think he is testing me.

Nearly every voice on here against the ban have met Steve, not many are saying much who’ve only experienced Glory. I honestly try to treat everyone with respect but when it’s only one way or I feel it is then it becomes an easy decision for me to stop.

I’m really sorry to Steve, to those that have met him and those against bans no matter what but there are those who don’t speak out that have only met Glory too, nobody can be right or wrong, Glory was his own worst enemy and I do feel those tolerant of Glory would have been less tolerant if they’d never met Steve the genuine guy. It’s just a shame Steve never posted as Steve

 

If only you’d realised LL was his other account not Eric, I wouldn’t have said a word

 

Just seen a pm from brb stating hands up it’s a balls up on all our parts regarding Eric, I was in the middle of writing a post LL and BS would be proud of (length wise)

 

We really should just reset the clock and start again in my opinion.

I'm not sure if you and fellow mods would be willing to swallow your pride or if Glory would even come back.

It's worth considering at least and we could all make a fresh start.

Mate I’ve no pride to swallow, I’m not regretting my decision and I’ve said all I’ve got to say on post #84 in regards to that so please look at it again.

Did Marcos touch a heart string with his post, I’d not be human if he didn’t, @lifecheshirewhite I’ve spoken with him too so between them yes there is a side of me feeling really ****ty about the situation but I don’t feel the three of us are to blame, Glory is.

He often says himself, “if I’m not banned” so he knows what he is doing, I just don’t get it....

I’ll chat with the other two in the morning if someone doesn’t start moaning it’s gone into 23 pages

Did I suspect Eric was Glory - Yes, one other mod did too, brb thought no way but discovered discrepancies that were looked into, he thought it was someone else from another forum up to mischief, it wasn’t so Eric is back. Eric was NOT banned due to being assumed Glory.

Has it been reported that Glory has another account, (not Eric) yes, can I share where the info comes from, no, do I trust the info 100% yes, is there solid evidence, not that I’m aware of, was this ‘alleged’ second account anything to do with his ban or did it influence our decisions no.

Supermods MI6 power - No idea, not privileged to that info, no desire to be either after tonight’s interrogation. Don’t take this the wrong way but the software that runs this forum will be the same for many forums, it will all be licenced if you’re worried about it don’t join forums
