On his disciplinary record, he's only had 1 red card in the last 4 years, albeit a period in which he has played 102 matches. He has had a remarkable 32 yellow cards in those matches, so almost 1 every 3 matches. Not sure how that translates to suspensions.
Ye I know he is. Did Brucey sign him twice? The other year when Sunderland beat Chelsea and Arsenal to stay up, he was excellent.
So, Nige wants another CM'er. Norwood fee too much for Ehab, so instead pay high loan fee / wages for Cattermole. Said many times we miss an Ash #legend(*) type player. Cattermole isn't what I had in mind but if it happens, hopefully it proves an inspired move. * #legend should be mandatory after every mention of Ashbee, in an Muslim / Allah sort of way
Only because he’s off, he was a regular last season, has been a regular in pre-season and retained his No.6 shirt for this season.
Yeah Bruce signed him for Wigan and Sunderland. He's got a good pass on him, could be a nice little steal for us. I'm just worried his wages will be higher than what we would like to pay.
Cattermole is just the type of player we need. Decent reader of the game, thoughtful passer of the ball and he drives his teammates on. Not afraid to mix it with like-minded opposition players, which in turn would allow more freedom for his cohorts. With a bit of luck, Adkins may be able to get him to pick his times better. Always plays for his shirt.
My best mate is a Sunderland fan, he says Cattermole is one of those there that have been dragging the team down for years. When he was younger he would have been a good Ash type but not for at least the last 3 years. This potential signing really shows how much some of our fans are clutching at straws these days, sad times
He was dire for Sunderland last season according to the Sunderland fans. Though they seem to say all their players are dire every season.
This is true on both counts. It also has to be said, although he's only one player, that despite his leadership and grit, they've finished rock bottom two seasons running. But, that said, if he becomes a Tiger then he'll have my total support
Ye let's hope he's as bad as Elmo Meyler and Larsson. Absolute disasters for us all of them. We warned they were bad by them... he didn't play in the pl relegation, well 8 games. Who would want a player with 12 years pl experience.
Right. Didn't realise/remember that. It's maybe unfair, but I feel it reflects badly on a 'leader' whose team had capitulated for two seasons running. But, of course, I expect Adkins to know more about himethan I, and I'd support LC if he signs.
Think the problems at Sunderland went a lot deeper than any one player. Cattermole is one of those old school players. If they're winning and he's seen in a boozer he's a great man. If they're losing he's a pissed up **** who doesn't care about the club. Adkins does know more than you and I Leon but not someone's best mate. Arf
Actually, if you deduct the time lost through red cards and injuries he's only 16yo. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...t-seven-times-averages-red-card-26-games.html https://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/players/1258/lee_cattermole_injury.html No thanks.
