I am happy with scraping a point away to a poor Birmingham. I just really didn’t want to start with a loss. Thank you so much Hernandez. [HASHTAG]#1manteam[/HASHTAG]

MB on Match Day Live - McLean and Leitner can be very pleased with their contribution from the bench. SirBenny with the assist for the 2nd goal.

Now off to cook a BBQ.
May catch you later if still sober!!! <ale>

This year's Maddison perhaps? To cover up for the fact that Farke plays a style a) that is not suited to the championship and limited players, and b) as the World Cup showed, is out of date.

That was like last season on a nut shell, try to bore the pants off everyone with an overly defensive display hoping for 0-0 or 1-0. Then play open, score but look horrific at the back.
Positives are:
that we can score
Srbeny had his best game
Hernandez
Earliest subs ever from Farke
we didn't lose

Bah!

It's ok, Farke's toast apparently! <whistle>

Good never say die comeback but we need to tighten up at the back. Don't understand McLean and Leitner on the bench. Very different attack when they came on. Rhodes did well up front, forcing two desperation saves from their keeper. Hernandez was the difference, though, and he's already well on the way to exceeding Murphy's 7 goals last season. Mixed feelings about this one, but it could have been a lot worse. Away draw a reasonable result in the end.

He will be. My optimism is tempered with a fair degree of realism, but judging on one game (less than one game in some cases!) is mental.

Some of these players have only had a few pre-season games behind them. I'm not reaching for the shotgun yet. <ok>

He was in charge last season.

Only because it' the first game of the season and players still bedding in, but if we going to finish in the top 6 then we are going to need to be winning games like this.

I was happy to give Farke the benefit of the doubt last season, but not this one. He needs to start making better decisions. The starting line up was pretty odd, but at least he made the right subs early enough for it to make a difference. Really don't understand why Leitner & McLean didn't start. We have some really good potential in our squad, If Farke can't do better with this squad then he needs to go. Still willing to give Farke a little time, but not much.

Won't judge him on one match, especially as we have Lewis to come back and the flair of Buendia to come. Hope the lesson's been learned from this one though.

Lewis is a decent player and has great potential, but he's not a game changer and we really shouldn't be relying on him being fit. Farke had the players available today to do better than he did. As Gandy said not reaching for the shotgun yet, but must check where the key to the cupboard is.
