A new hockey team in St. Johns ... sound like a bunch of growl and grunts but I must confess growler (aside from the naughty Brit slang) is a long term name for a low profiled iceberg which frequents the waters off Newfoundland (as in sinking the Titanic). Anyway, struck me as amusing and shareworthy.

How hot does it get in Norwich?

It is the furthest north of the top 10 warmest places in the UK in an average year.
Warm, more pubs per head of population than most places, historical place, a football team which though in a city with a lower population sells out every week. Sounds like paradise.

But they could reach those heights shortly. Although OLM won't have thought it had ever reached as high as
47.4c the fact it was 0.6 under 48 he will consider a major victory.

He won't, as he doesn't see everything as a competition.

And the point was simply wrong, it's not going to get anywhere near 48 degrees in Portugal, the highest predicted temperature in the next month is 33 degrees.

Better tell the forecasters they aren't as well informed as yourself as their predictions are different. The ones in an narticle on the HDM website which predicted 45c on Friday for one.

And the authorities in Spain and Portugal who warned off a possible high of 48c.

Plus, as is well documented, the men have extra fingers as their sisters have proportionately larger growlers than the national average.
