Ronnie Corbett used to whack golf balls at me on the way home from school. Can't stand the man.
Did I ever tell anybody Ronnie Corbett is my father?

We don’t need a 1200 Page Takeover thread & a couple of try hards to understand the following -
1. The Aussies turned up at our Play Off games in their Charlton scarves.
2. 77 days have passed since.
3. Due to Belgian cost cutting, we have 12 fit players.
4. The day before the season starts, it is revealed that the same Aussies have tasked an Everton employee with finding them the money to buy Charlton.
Not ‘done deal’ or ‘iminent’ or even ‘WIOTOS’....just plain embarrassing.
Not flying a flag for the Aussies, but nobody else is interested, unless you believe the story about "A British Consortium". The abortive Aussie bid hasn't put anyone else off buying, Roland has done that with his asking price. I can't see a good outcome to this. Expecting a buyer to pay for a previous owner's feck-ups, plus the losses we'll incur in the coming years is unreal. Roland should do what Elliot Short did at Sunderland and write off the debt. He could easily do that.
orDuchatelet should now do the following, this weekend:
1.Publicly kill off the Aussie non bid
2. Appoint Bowyer as manager, regardless of whether we get a pasting tomorrow.
3. Appoint some serious staff to manage the club day to day.
or
4 Sell the club for a quid and f*** off.
Didn't the Bolton dude write the debt off?to who?
we cost £1m a month
Didn't the Bolton dude write the debt off?
Nobody else is interested because the product is obscenely over priced.
Which is one of the many reasons there is so much resentment. The club is overpriced, yet we are assured the Aussies agreed a price with RD way back when. We now hear they need new investment. There are really no mysteries here - running a club like Charlton is a costly business, you need money to get in, and more to keep the club running. The Aussies should have backed away months ago if they thought they were being sold an overpriced Charlton - lot's of others did. if they cannot afford to run the club the same applies. They may be all that stands between RD and a sharp reality check over his price for Charlton and how the rest of the world view what he has done to the club.
Caveat Emptor.
