But where is the money going? We are in profit, significantly, given we "had" £16m in Jan and then received two £40m payments from the Premier League (one in Feb, one in July).

I don't think any of us can answer that questions as we really don't know the ins and outs of costs etc. I mean many on here expected the accounts to be fairly healthy. Even if you truly believe accounts have been doctored to make them look bad (which I have to say is farcical for me), the accounts were still in bad shape. So I think its fair to say I would take the amateur football financial experts on here assessing the money with a pinch of salt. To be honest everyone seems a bit clueless in that regard.

Regardless though its the constant assertion he won't see a penny I find bizarre. Quite simply I think its horseshit and nothing seems to back this up. Mbemba leaves. Schar is signed - cost to the club in fees, wages. Merino leaves. Ki signs. Costs in fees, wages. Mitro leaves Muto signs. Costs in fees wages. Though I suspect Muto is Gayles replacement and AN Other (Rondon?) is Mitro's. Personally I'd rather sign Abel Hernandez on a free than Rondon and put the money towards a no.10 but hey ho its Rafa's choice. Sels leaves, Dubravka is signed. Fees, wages.

Given some of the above weren't really even part of our squad last year in some shape or form, I think its ludicrous to suggest Mike is pocketing all the money. Yes we are running a tight ship at present, either for a sale or to bring costs back in line, but I don't buy into all these evil conspiracies. I think they are embarrassing assertions to be honest given the evidence.

Did Joselu not replace Murphy,I know who I'd have liked to play for the last 15 mins last season!

Crazy move from Rafa for me. Murphy was alright as far as journeymen go for me. He'd have finished more than Joselu and worked just as hard.

True enough, bought for a purpose and did a pretty good job of it and would have been capable of same last season instead Joselu came on while Mitro sat on bench

Remember there was a quote saying he could have EVERY penny.
Also, as stated previously, there are still positions that needs sorting that haven't been addressed with all this "good business"
Capable but not necessarily an improvement

I think every one has been an improvement. Not necessarily in how we might see it in ability terms, but certainly in how the manager sees it.

What peoples have to ask themselves is who is of more use to Rafa:

Ki>Merino (although the latters potential could see him move past Ki)
Schar>Mbemba
Mitro>Muto
Dubravka>Sels

That's how Rafa will see it. It doesn't really matter how we see it, if we are backing the manager then you have to say we are in better shape.

Every penny the club generates was the quote. What a business generates depends on the state of its finances after expenses. We had a poor starting point looking at the accounts.

The fact that we seem to be looking at installments rather than a straight payment would also seem to back that up - as well as the notion of asset stripping

We had a poor starting point looking at the accounts.
The costs have been squeezed for years. Has our income ever been higher? Ashley is running the club for every penny of profit he can get from it. We must all accept on here that we'll never be allowed to compete with the top eight as it's potentially loss-making and simply not where he wants to be.

Rafa must be fully aware of this policy. We must also accept it. I feel that Ashley will not sell as the club as it fulfills all the goals of his ownership - that being in relation to his main business, and he'll probably be our owner until he retires.

Does that mean we'll be wearing Puma till then as well?

Not sure you can use fees AND wages. The players that were replaced were presumably being paid a wage

Sorry. You seem to be suggesting the money we had (whatever that amount was) and the money made from sales have been used to pay transfer fees, other fees AND wages. Yes they have but the players we got rid of were being paid so the wages, though different, to an extent cancel each other out so to cite wages as part of the transfer moneys disappearing is metal

£16m "bid" for Jorgensen. Disappeared.
£40m payment from PL in Feb. Disappeared.
£40m payment from PL in July. Disappeared.
Same players out as players in. Net profit on transfers and wages.
Selling for instalments; buying for lump sums.
£90m "losses" in previous accounts; club has NO serviced overdraft and NO loan (save Fat Mike's money) - how would it be possible to avoid administration if this were true? How is it possible to pay players if there was less than no money?

The club is one big steaming Ashley lie. What I wouldn't give for Rafa to walk and sit down for a free for all interview with George Caulkin. Just to understand wtf is going on would be a start, even if nobody liked the truth. The problem is there's no truth anywhere. Ashley is pathologically averse to truth.

Rafa wouldn't be party to the clubs finances so he'd be making it up.

I don't know if its metal? It could be wood? Or plastic? Like some of our fans at present.
