Yeah, maybe. I think it'd be alright with if they were the alternate home shorts. It just looks a bit jarring them not being black. Feels a bit Stoke-like to me.

I don't mind it either and for the same reasons, looks fine and represents a new start.

Oh well, just me then! Based on what he said on one of the podcasts I don't think Donald would have picked it so I'll wait for next season for a new start kit-wise ;)

I wouldn’t have picked it, and I think the contrast of black is far better.

After last years though anything was gonna be ok.

Well when they first started wearing the red shorts I thought it looked crap but it's grown on me. Black does look a bit smarter. The Adidas contract runs out after this season doesn't it? They won't want to renew so let's hope we get someone with more than half an hour spare to design the next one.

I love Adidas as a brand and I’ve enjoyed the training gear but the kits have been ****e.

I've always preferred Adidas to Nike and have had a lot of their clothes over the years but they can't seem to get our kits right. Keep on changing stupid stuff that doesn't need messing with.

Doesn't tradition count for anything these days?

They **** around with the shirt stripes to the point they disappear altogether on the black.

Now the black shorts are gone.

Are we changing everything this summer?

Where are we playing our home games this season? Gateshead?

I'd be happy with Macron or Avec. Not big name brands but they produce bespoke kits for each of the clubs they supply. Or hummel for the nostalgia factor and the fact that I love their gear.

Macron always look decent, but I’d like us to go back to Umbro if possible, proper out and out football kits, no ****ing about.

Yeah, some of Umbro's stuff has looked ok for the start of this season. It is proper football gear. Mind, I do like some of the slightly old-school foreign brands. Always like Hummel and Le Coq have been doing nice stuff for St Etienne and Fiorentina for the last couple of years. That's probably a bit 'continental' for us though!<laugh>

We won't need to bother with a sports psychologist with this lad in the squad, he's got it covered.

I am already panicking about when a bigger club comes in for him. Just watched his video highlights and there are some cracking goals. I think he is going to be a massive hit this season. With him, McGeouch, Honeyman, Gooch, McGeady, Sinclair, Maja.....Watmore to come back in and then one or maybe two further signings up front. We are looking the most attacking, albeit at a lower level, since Reidy's team 20 years ago.

On a separate note if Georgia Casey wants to come and see my food diary well, my door is always open.

Our "strongest" 11 from last year wouldn't turn up unless they got permission from their agents
