I never quite trust anything 100%, if man made

So there are episodes of subtle anxiety flittering in and out of my thoughts during any flight I may take...that's where a good book comes into the equation

Genuine question, anyone know why planes have seatbelts? Something I’ve always wondered yet never actually asked about.

Don't like flying, spend the entire flight thinking about the plane breaking or dropping out of the sky. I actively look for short haul luxury holidays now, last long haul was Mexico.

    Done it once for charidee!..

We were all half pissed when we signed up. When we sobered up and realised what we done, everybody was trying to think of an excuse to get out of it. Nobody ever came up with one that anybody would believe, so short of breaking your own leg, it was go through with it.

I was bricking it and they had to shove me out of the plane, but once I felt the static line almost pull my nuts up through my throat and realised I wasn’t going to die, I quickly remembered what I’d been taught.

So that if it crashes the recovery team can have a laugh matching the top half to people's bottom half

  7. Agree but have close family in Melbourne and love the place so it's just about a price worth paying every few years.

I heard that the brace position is to keep your head from smashing to pieces so they can still match your teeth to your dental records.

Mainly for take off and landing in case the plane skids off the runway and when in the air to stop people getting thrown out of their seats during bad turbulence. People think Turbulence is just a bit of bumpy flight, but people have been killed during bad turbulence.

    Bit of safety advice .

If there is an African / Negro Air hostess on the flight .

Sit as close to her as possible .

If a Plane crashes , the first thing they look for is the Black Box .

Travelled to Dubai a couple years ago. Sat next to an amazing Australian girl. Just as we were getting acquainted, the flight staff asked her if she could move so a couple could sit there with their 1 year old child. It screamed the whole way from Kolkata to Dubai. Not a great experience...
