The midfielder has joined the Lads from Wycombe Wanderers for an undisclosed fee, penning a two-year deal at the Stadium of Light. O’Nien started his career with Watford before moving to Wycombe in July 2015. And the 23-year-old, who is Jack Ross’ tenth signing of the window, has flourished since moving to Adams Park. He played a key role in the Chairboys’ promotion from Sky Bet League Two last season, making over 100 appearances for the club during a three-year spell. Speaking about the move, O’Nien said: “It’s a huge honour because it’s such a big club. “The last few days have been pretty manic for me and it’s all happened so fast, but I’m delighted to be here, and I can’t thank the club enough for giving me the opportunity. “The direction of the club is only going to be up, and I’m going to do everything I can to help get the club to back where it belongs.” New Options and Price Reductions Season Cards 2018-19 More please log in to view this image please log in to view this image WEARSIDE BY SIDE please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image Facebook Twitter YouTube Instagram Google+ Dugout POPULAR VideoPlayers & StaffSAFC StoreSee more Terms and Conditions Competition T&C'sCopyright Privacy PolicyCookie Policy Contact Us
I like the sound of this one, obviously not seen much of him but the descriptions, the Wycombe fan comments and his attitude seem bang on. Be great to actually start getting to know these lads come Saturday, glad it’s an early kick off I’m so excited for the game!
Yeah at this point it's obviously a stab in the dark having seen none of them in person but I think this lad is a star in the making. I've never seen such overwhelming positivity from an old club about a player after they've moved on. They literally love him at Wycombe.
That’s always the biggest sign isn’t it. Even down to him posting on his own social yesterday that he was heading up before the deal was done, showed he was buzzing for it. We are going to see lads playing with pride in the shirt for first time in years and I ****ing love that. First and foremost the players have to respect how massive a deal this club is to the people, and we’ve always loved those that do. It’s a long, long road back to the Premier League but it’s almost like the new owners are detoxing the club, and we’ve needed that since Keane left in all reality.
Id bet any money our strongest starting 11 this year would beat our strongest starting 11 from last year. There you go mate.
I genuinely think we are going to score hatfuls this season from all over the pitch. It's going to be a mint season.
It's not really relevant to this thread, but it looks like the red shorts are going to be the 'home' shorts, rather than the black ones and that looks a bit ****. Not traditional and all that.
Cant say ive ever looked at another man that way. Each to their own though. Hope you enjoy your new w@nking material.
Not tradition no, but I actually quite like it, took me a few games but I think it’s a nice change for a season. Out with the old and in with the new all over the club this season, and if the kit is included in that, so be it.
