Schumacher in the lead. Oh dear... He's just not that great without FIA backing and traction control when it's illegal... He was an above average driver, maybe even a very good one. Probably just a bit better than Rosberg in his prime. Lucky boy though, wasn't he? Actually that's not fair - he's very good at organizing a team, and cheating.

I put Nikki Lauda as he was getting no love, a 3 time world champion (shoulda been more) who was nearly burned to death, if that accident hadn't happened he would probably have beaten Fangio's WDC total. but as Cowboy says you can't really choose a goat as some who would have their names up there never had the chance as their careers and lives ended early. Who knows what would've happened to Schumacher, Hamilton, Vettel if they'd been driving in 'the killer years'. Plus you have totally different cars and tracks.

I voted Senna to get him in front on Schumacher, but really it is impossible to say who is the GOAT, the closest you came come is GOTG.

Senna and Prost both had each other to contend with as team-mates, as well as Mansell and Piquet (who really should also be on the list of choices imo) unlike Schumacher who had the like of Jaques Villeneuve and David Coulthard as his main antagonists, for example, if Prost had done a Schumacher and been given no 1 status at McLaren he would probably been a 7 or 8 time champion, yet he wasn't as good as Senna. And Jim Clark was the best of his era, an era I believe had some of the best drivers because motor racing was far more readibly accessable to ordinary folk as it was a hell of a lot cheaper to get involved than it was in the 80's and beyond, so it was a case of the best that made it, not the just the ones that could afford to continue. I know how much it costs to race Karts at club level, and it ain't cheap, it broke me very quickly.

Hahaha, how long will it be until you pose as a failed moderator wannabe and threaten people by posting personal messages to them.

I have thought about this message and decided I will take it back ^^

For the sake of standing up to Cowboy...

Just found this picture from Spa in '65 I believe. Hill leading, with Stewart, Clark and Surtees further back.

    I am 6 on Sunday. :)

That is an epic photo AG, it seems both drivers and spectators had huge balls back then.
