That bit really worries me. Jones and Smalling have never been Jose's preferred partnership, that said we have never had a pair fit long enough to form a partnership under Jose. At the moment I would say his preferred pairing is Bailly and Rojo but both seem made of glass. I would like to see Bailly and Jones paired together for a decent number of games (again both made of glass). Lindeloff has made massive steps in his last few games (weeks apart) and I hope he will show his best this season,
... there is a bit of a difference ... our owners are investing in good young talent to build a side for the future and Maguire fully fits that longer term objective ... as does appointing a manager like Puel who seems to like to blood youth ... you really need to cash in on Toby before his real market value starts to decline ... we keep Maguire even another 2 seasons and his value is only likely to go up ... otherwise fair points ...
Grealish is what 30m which you would be happy paying. Reckon richarlison is far better so 35m rising to 50m ain't bad in my books. Gylfi is pretty old compared to richarlison. Reckon as long as he improves his heading and his finishing then richarlison could be frightening
Yeah for sure, he’s a great CB who still has time to improve but the fact still remains that every player has their price, regardless of the project of a club or their stature. The day Utd sold Ronaldo to Real was the moment all clubs realised no one was safe. I think Toby will go this window, it’ll probably be the (or one of the) biggest deals on deadline day. Like I said in another post, ideal scenario for us would be to get Martial in return although that’s doubtful but if Utd match the supposed £75m asking price then so be it, as long as we get a replacement.
If we sign Grealish it’ll probably be a deal that can reach £30m based on add ons, I reckon we’ll get him for less though if it does happen. His style looks like it’d suit our play as he drives through centre of the pitch which we lack without a fit Dembele so it’s a fee worth paying, especially as Poch has a good track record with young English players. You might be right RE Richarlison, he definitely looks talented but I don’t think after one good half of a season he’s warrented such a fee. Could end up being a bargain in years to come but right now just doesn’t seem so.
Likewise ... if United were to bid £75-80 m for Maguire I think we would sell and look to bring in Gibson from 'Boro or Alfie Mawson from Swansea
Mawson looks good, a few fans on our board spoke about how they wanted him. Not really seen too much of Gibson to speculate. I personally like Tarkowski, seems a good ball-playing CB. If Toby does go I wouldn’t mind us going for him and let him challenge Vertonghen and Sanchez for a spot.
You are right that he's only had half a season and his form fell off the cliff. Will give him the benefit of the doubt though for a number of reasons: - young player moving to a new league (he's 20?) - think quite a few of his appearances in 2nd half of his season were as sub? - before he started at Watford he had already played 22 games for his brazillian club so had already played half a seasons worth as their league carries carries on during our break. He needs to improve his heading though. He had some great chances but his 50p head meant he missed quite a lot of headed chances lol.
Chelsea supposedly asking for £62m for Morata (). Surely they’ve forgotten to put a point in between the 6 and 2? Arguably before the 6 actually.
People speculating Zaha could be off after removing Palace from his insta bio and posting something about making a change. Reckon it’s between us or Chelsea.
Rumours that bookies are slashing odds on Kane to United. Even the rumour will have HIAG diarrhoeaing all over himself.
