I've seen him play on tv a couple of times for freiburg, no question he's a sticker who can also cross goals, but Freiburg are a championship quality team so being the best player there doesn't have to mean much. Also Freiburg are looking to milk prospective buyers. 10 mio look like a hefty price already and they want more.
Newcastle & Fulham have been linked with him more than us and with the Crouch bid and Quinny talking to Helmes, I would say we arent after him, which would probably piss a few of the dream teamers off on here as I think they already had it in their minds that we signed him. Definately a bit hefty as well but thats what it costs these days I suppose.
At this point, Crouch to me, for less, even though he's older, looks the much more shrewd/safer signing.

I hope we sign him but to be quite honest I fully expect to sign Crouch for 15m on a 5 year contract withGyan gong the other way. I just hope SNQ and Bruce have something up their sleeve or I will be in the north stand chanting Bruce out!!!!! I would rather sign no one than Crouch for 10m!!!!!!
