I trust DC to make the right signings. Telford did a good job for us, but he never actually forced his way into the team which probably speaks volumes. He'll probably do well for Bury in League 2.

Apparently Christian Doidge is close to signing. Would be great if we could get him.
Interesting. Where did you hear that from? I agree. Good signing if we can make it happen. I prefer someone though with more experience at L1 or above and with a good goal scoring record. We got 'apparently' £750k so should get someone in with experience. As much as Ellis frustrated me, he has experience of L1 and scored goals. We have no strikers with experience of scoring in L1, apart from Nichols who scored 1 last season for us. Prior to this he did score a few for Peter'boro though.

Harrison played for just over an hour last night for Ipswich, the write up on his performance against MK Dons said that his performance was good, that he was vocal and demanding the ball holding the ball up well and winning his headers, their gain is definitely our loss

Club statement on Keith Brookman... https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/july/25.7.18-keith-brookman/

The club's Head of Media Keith Brookman has left the club, after a dedicated and passionate 21 years of service.

Keith originally began as a programme contributor from about 1992, producing content for every edition up until 1997, at which point he became a full-time Rovers employee under the role of programme editor.

He later took on the roles of summarising on BBC Radio Bristol and becoming the club's Press Officer/Head of Media.

Keith built up an esteemed reputation for producing an award-winning matchday programme, increasing the content from 48 pages to 64 and then to 84.

He also worked very closely with the first team, travelling with them to all away games and acting as an unofficial player and staff liaison officer, assisting with tickets, travel and food.

As a result, Keith was the main port for communications between Darrell Clarke and the press, whilst also interviewing the Manager himself countless times for the matchday programme and website.

Darrell had this to say on Keith's departure from his position at the club; "Keith was an integral part of the staff at here at the club and you'd struggle to find someone with more commitment and love for Bristol Rovers.

"He's been here ever since I started working at the club and he will be sorely missed by everyone at the Memorial Stadium.

"He's become a personal friend of mine in the time that I've been here and it'll certainly remain that way despite his departure.

"We all wish him well for the future and hope to see him back at the Mem as a fan at some point."

The club would like to extend it's greatest thanks for all of Keith's hard work and effort over the years and wish him well for the future.

I hope he's back on the scene again sometime in the future. His eternally optimistic contributions to the matchday commentaries will be sorely missed. He's been the voice of the club for so long! They'll probably save some money with a twenty page programme, but it will never be the same.

Programme will have 4 pages less this coming season and less adverts too.

According to Bristol Rovers FC news DC is hoping to bring in 2 strikers and possibly a LB, he also said that he might use the loan system again. Not surprised that Telford signed for Bury rather than us, judging by the game time he had last season I don't think many loan players would have signed for us
