someone desperate? they would need to be.

I second this year that won't happen due to window timing and we are looking at a January exit for the crocked one.

Interestingly Sky are suggesting that Chelsea are considering moves for Cech or Schmiechel. That’s come from nowhere - does this mean that they think Alisson is a no? Am speculating like a red top hack on a column inch bonus here, obviously....

With all our goalkeeper woes who'd have thought we'd be turning our noses up at Brazil's no. 1 <laugh>

It is a ridiculous fee for a keeper, but from our perspective, never mind labeling the position. What’s the price of the missing piece? What’s the price of putting us over the top? We need this. We need a keeper who has the quality of our outfield players.

Pretty much what I said earlier. If we had De Gea, we'd have won the CL last season. For some reason, keepers have always been under priced compared to other areas of the pitch. Yes forwards generally will be more expensive as they score you the goals that win game, but a keeper and defence are the one that make sure you don't lose them as well.

I also think that 15 years ago, defending was easier. You didn't need to be as good a defender because you could get away with a lot more. More fouling, shirt pulling, give the forward a kick early doors without getting a yellow. Nowadays, any kind of touch is a foul, and tackle is a yellow so defending has got a lot harder which means having really good defenders and keepers is far more important which means the very best are now catching up price wise with the rest of the positions.

Christensen has plenty of potential. If we don't play him now he will be a lost youth. Rudiger I think is top notch. Also there's David luiz who hopefully has grown out of his clowning. Cahill can go.

We could also play Dave who I think would be better for us if we play a high line as he's so solid and is average going forward.

IF he signs and is good enough to earn us the extra points we need to either win the title( :bandit )or the CL the money either of those things would earn the club would more than pay for the transfer fee.

The club are obviously wealthy enough to pay the fee, if we don't take the opportunity Chelsea or Real will step in and the chance to sign him will be gone.
Klopp has been relatively (compared to City, Utd and Chelsea)frugal since arriving, giving the players already at the club a chance to impress(or not in many cases), now is the time to speculate to accumulate in the transfer market.
We need success and if you can't beat the ****ers by bargain buying join them in spending **** loads.<grr>

#LFC are cautiously optimistic of securing Roma's Alisson, valued at £66 million, in what would be a world record deal for a goalkeeper. Talks are progressing well. Player has indicated his willingness to move to Anfield.

Clanger against Tranmere seems to be the final nail in the Karius coffin. Also Mingolet is off then.

Buffon went for 51M Euro in 2001, so with inflation not a bad fee at 66m Euro in 2018 for a decent keeper. I just worry he will not be that good

In the end.. if we've saved up for 2 years and have it then buying exactly who the manager wants is fair enough.

    put it this way

lfc signings in past 12 months

    solanke
    salah
    robertson
    oxlade Chamberlain
    vvd

net spend -28mil.. no really just read that list again. we took in 28mil.

    kieta
    fabinho
    Shaqiri
    Allison?
    fekir?

    possibly 210mil spend

now........ just to be clear that's 10 players in before this year's sales.

    Allison
    taa lovren van dijk Robertson
    kieta fabinho fekir
    salah firmino mane

gomez Henderson ox milner shaqiri karius Matip lallana and prob solanke on bench

if you wrote the Europa league final team out and see the transformation.

    mingolet
    clyne toure lovren Moreno
    milner can lallana
    firmino sturridge coutinho
