I didn't put it very well. Of course most parents, wealthy or not (or however they acquired their wealth), will do anything they legally can for their children. My point was indeed about fairness, and was pointing at the unfairness of those who will inherit wealth from their parents also potentially being endowed enhanced intelligence.

    This.

You raise a fair point... it seems silly to have a second choice vote.

Interesting our original vote mirrored the referendum result almost exactly. I suspect the same would be true if there really was another vote. I think if it comes down to 'No Deal' being the only Brexit likely to happen then morally there should be an obligation to go to the public again and ask if that's really what we want.

No. NHS is for everyone, if you want to pay more you can. It's so very different from the US, where you don't have a choice, other between pay or die.

Yes. They won’t treat you if the Medical centre isn’t in your insurers coverage area. They won’t treat you if you have a pre existing condition, often even unrelated to your emergency. They will stop treating you if your insurance limit is met. And they bill you for EVERYTHING. Often you get given a price list before they give you any treatment.

NHS is free at the point of delivery for all. That’s what every developed country in the world has - except the US.

They wouldn’t leave you at the side of the road, but they wouldn’t give you anything but life saving treatment until they got your insurance details. If no insurance, they would need you or a relative to sort payment, and would withhold any non-life sustaining treatment until that was sorted.

Remainers have been plotting to stop brexit since we voted to leave.
Another referendum is just another way of trying to stop what was voted for by nearly 17.5 people.
I hope we just walk away now.

Not at all. People die because they can’t pay for their prescriptions. They go without insulin so they can afford food. That, in a so called ‘civilised’ nation, should never happen.

    No not yet.
Bob, please don't think of me as some right-wing fascist that wants to live in some insular Nationalist state because you couldn't be more wrong. I actually care a great deal about jobs and communities. I don't want to see us fail as a nation. I want the best for the country but my own readings, studies tell me that the EU is not what it should be and we are better off out. Agree there will be a lot of change and we would take a hit. TBH even if we went WTO we would just get a knock and we would bounce back.

17 million voted to stay. Disregarding their views is hardly democratic. If it must happen, a ‘soft’ exit is surly the most democratic way. That is, if you’re really concerned about democracy...

Don't you have to pay for medical care in France? Thought they had like a halfway house?

Also you have to pay for prescriptions from the NHS (very cheaply though, is it free for low tax payers?)

That is correct you do pay in France. I believe ( I maybe wrongish) but I thought my friend paid 70% of the bill or it might have been 30%. I was drunk when he told me.

Two years down the line I still don’t think you’ve said what will be better about your life if this happens.
