Like you said above mate, having the stent was a piece of piss. Amazing what they can do these days. Hope you're ok mate.
Would appear we are gonna go from Journey man like Dawson, Larsson to the youngest most young and untried squad ever. Did we learn nothing from last year untried U23 players from the Prem in abundance does not work. We should have paid what it cost for Wilson he woulda came back here it’s all to do with money at the end of the day. Essentially Wilson and Hernandez kept us up with their goals, no idea what’s gonna happen this season. Our squad is worse than last year by some margin. Relegation beckons. Ehab out.
Er, wasn't Wilson an untried U23 player from the Premier League? And we've no idea if Wilson would have come back here or indeed whether Liverpool wanted to send him here. I'd hang on and wait to see how it turns out before writing the season off.
So two players in each position: GK: Marshall, Long DR: Lichaj, Kane DC: MacDonald, Mazuch, De Wijs, Burke LB: Kingsley CM: Stewart, Henriksen, Irvine AM: Evandro, Toral Wing: Grosicki, Bowen, Milinkovic Striker: Keane, Dicko, Campbell So for two players in each position we are only missing a centre midfielder, winger and left back (Townsend). I suspect a striker would be wanted too (Diagne?)
I’d be having a look at Pilkington who I think is available from Cardiff - he’s a left winger/striker.
Think we are making some decent signings at the moment, young keen players who have got some experience in league football (not development leagues). Would like a old head in CM, even a div 1 war horse for those games we are scrapping in. The forward we are linked with looks decent, Townsend is ok for depth. Think we will get two attacking wingers on loan
Lack of championship experience, no leaders, no goal scorers, it's got another season of struggle written all over that squad for me. Utter ****e.
to be fair, it's now shaping up FAR better than I feared it might. Still much work to do in the next week or two. But at least it's being (re-) constructed as a balanced squad, not a thrown together mess like we've seen in recent years. And it's potentially a platform to build for the future on. No doubt the influence of Nige, but also some credit to Darnborough if it continues shaping up as it is (given that the Allams are not prepared to spend any significant money). Hopefully it looks like something that is attractive enough to new owners, rather than an utter car crash which is the way it was going. So now, just an utter car crash off the field!
Would be good if Henriksen, Irvine and Evandro can stay fit, we'll need their experience. Yeah, I know I said Evandro and fit in the same sentence but we can only hope...
