You don’t seem to understand the formation Adkins wants to play.

 

It's not hard to understand it, nearly every team in the world uses it at some point. Most of the teams that deploy it have clinical strikers at the top, not target men. Adkins said he wanted a big striker to come in, that doesn't mean he wants him to come in and play up front by himself.

 

Well when you only have one striking position in the formation he wants to play it does.

Interesting signing. I only hope he’s more consistent than the other Chelsea loanees. I like the fact he’s had a bit of lower league experience.

It will be his primary formation. So don’t you think we’re best off having a striker capable of playing in the formation he favours? We have Campbell and Dicko for any alternative options. We don’t have any physicality to play in that position for the formation he favours. God this is like pulling teeth.

It's only like pulling teeth because you're being so argumentative. Do the words "agree to disagree" mean anything to you? Because if you're waiting for me to turn around and say "you're right", you're going to be bitterly disappointed.

The crux of this disagreement is that you think a target man would be better in this formation, even though most of the footballing world play with a clinical striker up front who isn't necessarily ten feet tall. And I disagree. I think we're better served with a striker who can do it all, rather than one who is in the team because of how tall they are.

 

God it's chronic. Just leave it. You've obviously got one idea, I've got another. The two don't agree. It happens. Get over it.
