You could be on to something there Karlos...Kane has not looked as sharp in last 2 games and has looked a little jaded and spent long periods of the 2nd half in the middle of the park! Lakaku played poorly against France so potentially he could play a stormer and grab a couple of goals today.

I think England will get beat. We 'll play a stinger side than in the farcical group game but I still see the same outcome. Could be 2-1 or 3-1 Belgium. We 'll probably score from a set piece..
I hope I’m totally wrong mate but at 18s I’m willing to have a go. I agree about Kane, I think like Gary Neville said after the semi final “He wouldn’t be surprised if Kane was carrying an injury”. I hope Harry wins the Golden Boot mate and England win today

I'm sure Kane was injured in the Columbia game and has struggled since. Can't be having Lukaku scoring 2 though.

Kane is not supposed to get injured until September. He will play the August games for Spurs goalless then miss a couple of months on the sidelines and come back and start banging them in. That was what he did a couple of years ago when I dropped him from my fantasy team when he got injured having scored just once and never resigned him... <laugh>

World Cup 2018: Were England good, lucky, or a bit of both?

This should be in the ‘Reality Check’ section not ‘Sport’...

“Harry Kane scored three penalties, Kieran Trippier netted a free-kick and they scored from four corners and a free-kick routine.

But that does mean they only scored three times from open play in six games, one of which was a lucky deflection off Harry Kane against Panama.

So 75% of England's goals came from set-plays - more than any other team, excluding four sides in the group stages who only scored two goals.”

That did not go unnoticed – goals in open play in short supply. In the Croatia game, the only statistics England won were number of corners and number of free-kicks. When it came to shots on target, the finalists outnumbered us:

“So did that reliance on set-pieces hide other attacking deficiencies?

England had fewer shots on target per 90 minutes than half of the teams at the tournament, behind the likes of Tunisia, Iceland and Peru.”

Which England player had the most shots? Not Harry Kane. Definitely not Raheem Sterling.

So is this a renaissance in English football? Who will still be alive when England get to their next tournament semi-final? <laugh>

Big match to start soon at Adams Park where Wycombe entertain West Ham. We have 5 unnamed triallists on show

I had a small bet on Belgium -1 3/1 so good start. On another note why does Harry Kane always roll into a hedgehog like shape after he is tackled?!

I started off with a bottle of wine. Not looking good. By half time there's nowhere near half a bottle left

****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Might as well turn it off now. Just as we looked to be getting back into it

Two goals in seven hours of football, one a peno, the other a free kick.

Completely outclassed today. We need a reality check.I don't see this tournament as a success.

This failure is being classed as a success,to utilise a well hackneyed oxymoron.

It shouldn't be.

I see the racing post were advising England 10/1 to win the 2020 Euros. I think a reality check is required somewhat:confused: I think England punched a wee bit above their weight as mentioned by Dexter above.Great tournament for the fans though so glad you lads had a decent ride!!!!!

Progress not success Ste :emoticon-0148-yes:. A good leader and an honest and decent bunch of lads who tried their best. Compare this tournament to Euro 2016 and WC 2014 where they played like they'd never met before. We need a midfield maestro to dictate play. We don't have one and they can't be manufactured in St George's Park or any premiership academy. As you say 10/1 for Euro 2020 is barmy but then England's odds at every tournament rarely reflect their actual chances. I only watched the second half today and I thought we played very well against a top side. Though but for Pickford, Belgium would have scored a team goal to stand some comparison with that Carlos Alberto effort in 1970.
