To be fair that is being a bit unnecessarily dismissive

There's no need to go into any politics or test whether car workers understand economics (I assume they don't really need to when they go about their normal business) but there is some logic in their belief that because the same investment company, owned by the same family, runs both Fiat and Juventus that large investments in one might mean smaller investments in the other.

I'm not saying that's right, or that any strike would affect it anyway, but you can at least see a logical thread to their thinking beyond simply dismissing them as muppets IMO

Then they'd have been far better off striking when they bought The Economist for £300m, or a US insurer for over $6b, what they do with one business has absolutely no bearing on the operation of the other.

And they're muppets, because their productivity is terrible and if they take daft action like this, they're likely to just see more production moved out of Italy.

Fair point on other investments
It’s only a token gesture so won’t affect production location decisions though
1 small union at one of seven factories

I’m not having them being muppets mind you. I went out in support of them myself this afternoon (not that I told anyone...or anyone noticed)

Had a Datsun sunny that did that, not the engine that was great.

Similar with a Sunny I had.

Which reminds me of the tale of a plane bringing in spare cogs for Datsun developing engine problems.The pilot decided they had to lose weight so he told the crew to start throwing them out. As they showered down on the ground below a bloke turned to his mate and exclaimed "It's raining Datsun cogs!".

Bolton players are on strike having not been paid, yet they're still trying to sign Real Madrid striker Raúl de Tomás Gómez on loan.

He'd be a hell of a signing, he's 23 and scored 24 in 32 games to help Rayo Vallecano get promoted to La Liga last season.
