He never bullied me but I had a few run ins and we never met. But I’m the same. It’s someone I don’t know but I feel like I lost someone close. Seems totally irrational but I can’t explain it
Honestly. First I knew about it was an email from Sundermad. My reaction was **** him. Ten seconds later I was conflicted(hence the hot and cold 1st message). Now I'm ****ing gutted. Wanted to hate him but I can't, not now.

You're a top dude Bri.
Wouldn't go that far mate. Pint of cider to toast his life is the least I can do. But as somebody who has clashed with him over a long period of time it was right I set an example. No ****er has an excuse to speak ill now(don't mean pretend he's an angel. He'd hate that). May his memory be held in high regard.[emoji482]

As far as I can recall, apart from all the early arguments we all used to get involved in at the height of ISIS's attrocities, the only time I can recall clashing with Billy was when he said he'd love to have a go at my wife. That really pissed me off!

Can't blame the lad for good taste though!

Sometimes I clashed with Billy, sometimes I sided with him. He called us the Lee Cattermoles of the forum. That's what I liked about him, he wore his heart on his sleeve and said what he thought. Whether I agreed with him or not, I had to respect that.

He clearly had troubles but don't we all. Never forget his troubles started out with his good intentions to serve this country.

My thoughts go out to all his close friends and family. Sleep well mate x

Billy's forum persona was miles away from the caring son and proud dad that he surely was.
I had a few insults thrown at me in the early days on here but behind the bravado and foul language was a good lad.
He stopped posting on here a few months back but was very active annoying Cyprussyd on Sundermad - all done in true Billy style.
He will be missed but won't be forgotten.

RIP Billy

Very good point mate.

I have many cousins who served, in N.I. and other hotspots around the world.

I don't think we always do enough for our ex-serviceman. Too many end up on the streets, with PTSD, etc.

Billy served his country.

I'll raise a beer to him as soon as I'm well enough to.

There are a few of on this board who live far away from Sunderland and he seemed to me the heart beat of the area. To me Billy was what our club needed over the last few years. His posts were in your face full of passion for his team. That is what I expected from my team. You played at Sunderland then you know that you had been in a game. Would have loved to seen him give a team talk before they went on the pitch......I bet there would have been a few that got the hair dryer treatment from him if they weren't up for it.......always have such admiration for our ex servicemen. They put their nuts on the plate for their country.....they don't talk a game.....their on the front line doing it.....RIP Billy

Well enough to? Whats wrong with you like mate?

RIP Billy. In a world full of fake opinions and virtue signalling he always wore his heart on his sleeve and spoke his mind. Have to respect that even if I, like many, disagreed with nearly everything he said.

Condolences to those who knew him.

Shocked to read this, his bark was worse than his bite, this came over if you followed his posts carefully, never met him but would have liked to. RIP Billy
