I've been thinking of you mate. Sounds like you are holding up well, you are one of the most positive blokes I know so you've already pissed half the battle. Best wishes x
Very sad for those left behind, but Billy is on to the next adventure, the lucky sod! Best wishes to all affected.
Cheers mate. I've just had a rough couple of days and then things have just suddenly picked up again. So its onwards and upwards again! I know of a guy who was once at his lowest point and did something very silly. We're very lucky to still have him around. That guy is now building up a successful business, has the love of a beautiful daughter and is a great example of inner strength and personal fortitude. Someone can be an inspiration to others and yet be totally oblivious of the fact.
Yes, I know a lad just like that. He really does seem to have turned his life around, and whether he appreciates it or not, I'm 'chuffed as muck' for him I wish you the best of luck, too, Burley
Ive been talking to so many of you for that long now its pretty sh!t to hear if anyones going through a difficult period in their lives. Ive only met a handful of you in person but i feel like i know most people on here personally and have a mental image of what you are like in the real world. Weve had many laughs and personal chats over the years, and ive said things on here about my personal life that even some of the closest people in my life dont know ,so we kind of have a bond in a cyberspace kind of way if that makes sense?
It's a funny place. There's a lot of nonsense from time to time but as you say... we've been fixtures in each other's lives for a ****ing decade. Regardless of whether it's real life or online... There's definitely a bond that comes with that.
Thanks lads. I saw this the other night, but I didn't know what to do. It's rare that people say anything like that about me, if at all, so not sure how to respond. I'm just getting on and trying to make a future for the bairn. Thanks though
Bri long while since I posted on here and although I have never met any of you I still access the site and read all posts. Was sad to hear of Billys passing, always enjoyed his posts and all that went with them.Being in a predicament myself (still on wait list for a lung transplant),I have had real good support from people on this site in particular Billy and yourself and lots of others,so was so sad to to hear the news We all have our problems some worse than others but this site offers great support whatever the issue maybe Never met any of you but would love to do so in the future cheers Tom
sincerely hope you get that transplant mate, would love to see you fighting fit giving the mag wums some grief.
Hi Tom I'm sorry mate, I forgot all about your own medical problems. It seems like its been quite a while since I last saw you post. Bri has his own problems and yet still goes out of his way to offer support, to you, to me and I suspect many others too. The camaraderie of relative strangers on here is extraordinary. I hope you get your lung transplant very soon Tom. There's a few of us on here need to down a pint together. Stay positive mate!
Hi Burly, one thing I have always been since I was diagnosed with this progressive lung desease is that I have remained very positive all along the way.Having now been on the list for a year,I have had to go to Harefield hospital every three months for repeat tests to ensure that I am still in a fit enough state to undergo an operation of such magnitude.Although over the period my condition has worsened slightly ,I have still managed to get through the tests I do try and carry on as normal as possible however my mobility is a little restrictive.I get outside with the aid of my mobility scooter.Indoors I am still abale to walk but only short distances between rooms have got great support from family, friends and Harefield support group. The operation itself does not phase me at all and I am sure at some point down the line I will get the call Enough of my woes hopefully your treatment goes well and I wish you all the best
Good man. I've learned very quickly about the importance of being positive. And about having some patience. I'm the same about the op - bring it on!! Good luck mate!!
Hope you get to the top of that list soon fella. I'll be loitering around the SoL all season if you can manage to make it but I know like many others your health restricts you making it. It's sad so many great men can't even take some joy from a football match due to bad health. May you and everybody else get well really soon.
Awkward mate they weren't talking about you Nah seriously, we are all made up for you bro, you're smashing it. Billy was at his happiest on here when people were either scrapping like pigs or pouring their heart and soul out to each other. It's a funny old board this one, so different from the rest, in a good way... in a great way. Thanks for adopting a grateful Manc Bastard for so many years
