We played well for 30 minutes, got the dream start then conceded midfield and waited to be picked off. But to be fair Croatia were the better team by far and were far more adept going forward. No real complaints thought we got as far as we could given we had the easier group and route through the semi’s.
Indeed, I wasn’t hopeful at the start but grew into the rolling ball as it went along. All in all a good show for the country. Some real stars for the future emerged in Maguire, Pickford, Stones & Trippy.
Both Croatia’s goals came from poor defending but the biggest miss was Lingards when 1-0 up. Don’t recall any other attempts of note that you could call chances. We offered nads going forward in reality and never really stretched them.
Kane having his shot saved and then hitting the post? Could have squared it to Sterling.

I'd look to the positives, you have a set formation and style of play for once and a young team that now has big tournament experience.
Only Young won't be in the Euros and you have that Spurs geezer to replace him, lots of cover in all positions and a good squad. You'll be one of the favs going into the Euros. What Southgate had done is brilliant.

I'm not a blockhead like Matth just calling it as I see it, I usually want you out asap as you're **** to watch but you were good this time around.
I think the formation needs tweaking up top, with Kane playing right up there and someone in behind, the Kane playing deep thing didn't work that well.
The midfield was taken over by Modric, Rakitic, and co. Once that happened, we lost control and were hanging on.
Yeah but he wasn't offside so had it gone in I think VAR would have ruled it a goal.
