when you are wining this all sounds great.

Go out and then all the same not together, divisions in camp stuff would come out.

For me i'm sure we could hear the same guff the day of the QF in 2006.

Its only after when rio ferdinand etc admitted stupidly what they were at that it really became the excuse

For me the tournament starts now. Great draw, did the job, scraped by colobia who were shameful, sweden was a dolly of a QF and they did the job then.

After croatia tore into argentina they looked good but since they have looked good in possession but with little cutting edge and right now they should be tired, their forwards suit england style and their set peice tactics don't look capable of stopping england.

Great chance here.

Nah, no club tables here.

Win together, lose together. Even Henderson had a good game today while being outplayed. U20 and 21 players more talented coming through. Stick with the philo

Been impressed with a few players I didn't previously rate but it could be the infamous world cup performances

I think defensively we were pretty good, but then we were plaing 5 defenders every game so should be solid enough.

Pickford, Trippier & Henderson were prob the 3 picks of the tournament. Maguire was also much better than I expected.

The 3 behind Kane were probably the biggest disappointment. The talent that's there and just none of them managed to produce bar 1 good goal from Lingard.

I don't think anyone really stood out for England, they generally played well as a team throughout the tournament.

Not sure anything different could have happened unless we had a midfielder at home that could have made an impact. I can't think of one. But the management really need to look at our midfield and see what other combinations can be achieved.

Bunch of young lads selected to play as a team , some didn't look as good outside of their world class club teams, some looked better than their club sides ... but they won and lost as a team ... no one disappeared out of utter fear or arrogance. .

Supposedly better mature players have done both in the last 25 years ...

First England squad in ages picked to be what the manager wanted and those ideas not thrown out as soon as you reach a tournament.

Guys need applause for the effort ...

And hope you develop some midfielders in next 2 years but keep this idea going

So going forward.

Gk
No problem, Pickford been probably the best performer.

Defence
Walker is not a CB, need to find that third CB (Gomez?)
Young is not a wingback and should think its his last Eng tournament. Too many games in a short space of time for old legs in an energetic position.

Midfield
Think in big games playing Hendo on his own in CM is bad (Alli and Lingard were both playing off the forwards) in future two holding CMs are needed, Dier should have come on sooner alongside Hendo.

Forwards
Kane needs to stay high, dropped into midfield too much leaving nobody in the box
Sterling needs to learn to shoot, but isn't helped when Kane drops deep
Lingard and Alli are they forwards or mids?

The three creative payers is without doubt what let us down. Lingard is the only one that comes out of it with any credit imo

I think Southgate deserves applause more than the players. Pick a system, select the players to fit it and stick with it. Take note Sven, Capello, Woy, etc
