Can't stand him, and always abandon LBC now between 10.00am-1.00pm. If you listen to his show, he rarely has on anyone of great weight to interview now, Tory or Labour. That's because he's alienated all of them by his negative and sneering interruptions. So he spends his 3 hours taking apart callers that don't have his quick turn of phrase. Faux-working class (but actually public school), continuously-moaning tosser.
I didn’t want to start a separate thread for this, but what a wonderfully happy ending to the story of the Thai boys football team stuck in the flooded cave. All out alive. Great credit to all involved in the successful operation and a special mention to Saman Gunan, the heroic diver who sadly lost his life during the operation. I look forward to the inevitable film!
i'm a bit uncomfortable how quickly the hollywood makers have latched onto this. I'm also appalled at Elon Musk and the media for giving him the spotlight and letting him have lots of free advertising. As for the Thai boys, it's a fantastic story and i'm elated they were rescued. Reading into the background of the coach too (well whats reported) is heartwarming and how he gave up his food for the boys. I hope they all make a full recovery
Jeez, I'm SOOOOO glad you're not part of the process with that attitude. One of the most incorrect posts I've ever seen here. 1. Use of the word 'remoaners' instantly comes across as patronising and insulting. I thought that wasn't what people wanted to be like any more. 2. Assuming that anyone who didn't vote like you did is 'treacherous' is immensely insulting. and 100% wrong. Shows the 'little englander' gene is still sadly alive and thriving in some people. 3. 'May the Betrayer'? Clearly you've not taken any of the details of their position and looked at them objectively. I'd try thinking with your head for once. 4. Farage is abhorrent. He is filled with hateful smarm, and nothing else. That he's banished to the outer reaches of politics is still too close. 5. Trump is the worst thing ever to happen to world politics. A career criminal and conman who doesn't care for anyone but himself and those who can benefit him directly. The sooner he's locked up the better. And it's coming. Note: All my opinion, and therefore all valid. Also, I've not insulted you (despite the insulting tone of your post towards those who voted Remain) so please don't come back saying I have. I could easily do so, but I have chosen not to.
I'm glad you replied Goldie, cheers. I agree that he belittles and continually interrupts his callers, who aren't as eloquent as he is. So what argument would you challenge him with? He talks about leavers really only wanting blue passports, control of fishing and sovereignty. When callers tell him they want to 'make their own laws and legislation', he asks which EU laws they are unhappy about and no one can answer. How would you rip him a new one?
Not really WLW. You should look at what you said in your reply: 'little englander' gene, I'd try thinking with your head for once. 4. Farage is abhorrent. He is filled with hateful smarm, and nothing else. 5. Trump is the worst thing ever to happen to world politics. A career criminal and conman who doesn't care for anyone but himself and those who can benefit him directly. The sooner he's locked up the better. If we lock up Trump should we also lock up Clinton's as well? Worst sexual pest in White house history since Kennedy. Not to mention his wife and 30K emails and affairs. Should we discuss Obama who has killed more people with drones than any other President in US history. Is that as bad as being a 'conman'? Should we lock up Blair for lying to the British public and causing the deaths of British military and innocent civilians? So what has Farage done to you? Come on let's hear your BBC driven 'anti-everything' response Should we discuss the anti-Jewish stance of Corbyn or the Labour party? That is not thinking with my head that is fact. Finally I like Jacob Rees Mogg as well...Any problems with him? PS I didn't realize that we are not allowed to use the term 'Remoaner' so I apologise. Is "peoples vote loving anti democratic muppets' ok?
So much deflection. Trump is a criminal. Bill Clinton went through due process whilst President and now he’s no longer POTUS it’s between him and Hillary. Speaking of Hillary, she was investigated for two years and the REPUBLICAN led investigation found NOTHING. Obama inherited a war on many fronts from Bush, and although the loss of life is terrible, he didn’t do anything any other President wouldn’t have done. At least he did it openly and without the glee you see from Trump. He’s racist, he’s corrupt, hes a pathological liar, he’s a proven rapist (Ivana) and a self confessed serial sexual assaulter, and he’s clearly in Putin’s pocket. Trump is worse than the rest combined. Blair I also despise. He is also a proven liar. Anything you want to accuse him of relating to Iraq, go ahead. Doesn’t give Trump any leeway though. It’s completely separate. Farage is just hateful. He’s a cruel, calculated liar and bigoted xenophobic who has invented an Everyman persona that is at odds with his background, and he’s only interested in his place in history. Corbyns anti semitism is also abhorrent. JRM is an opportunist toff. He’ll only do what his nanny says (he used to take her canvassing with him, you know) And no, you can’t be insulting.
Not sure such a definitive statement can be made, mate. If you draw a line to show the options, with Remain at one end, and Walk Away With No Deal at the other, the average voter will be far closer to the Remain end than the Walk Away end. And that’s where the current proposal sits. It may not be what you say you voted for, it’s certInly not what I voted for, but it’s probably pretty representative of the nation as a whole, despite what the vocal minority each end would have us believe.
If the deal ends up as laid out on Friday I can just about live with it and I take the point that the 48% need to be considered too. But, if we can't make fresh deals with other countries; have to abide by EU regulation without any say and have to put up with some interference from the Euro judges, then it will be unacceptable to me. Imo this is what the EU will negotiate out of our proposals. In this situation I'd rather just walk away.
That's what I meant mate. A tad tongue in cheek really. If i had voted leave, I would actually be very pissed off. Its not what the people I know personally voted for either hence the 'not knowing what you voted for' statement arises. A big fat con by the cons. Can't trust any of them mate
I liked the idea of getting out as smoothly as possible and then getting the full on Brexit bit by bit. That would have minimised massive immediate changes which always scare me and delivered what leavers want even if it took a bit longer. I suspect if there was a clearly defined road map to achieve that it would have been supported by most leavers and a lot of remainers would have lived with it (I would have). It's not really working out like that is it?!
Yeah, I know what you meant, but this is what annoys me. Just because you voted Leave, it doesn't mean you should get exactly the kind of Brexit that was in your head when you voted. People voted for all kinds of different reasons and for many different forms of Brexit. Some Leave voters were expecting to stay in the Single Market, some wanted to stay in the Customs Union, some wanted Norway, some Switzerland, and some just wanted to give Cameron and Osborne a kick up the arse. Of course, many also just wanted to walk away from everything, but I get tired of people saying 'this is not what I voted for'. You voted for Brexit and May is offering Brexit. There was no majority for Hard Brexit.
