Yeah, whilst you're spot on with the nuts and bolts of the Catholic/Prime Minister thing i remember reading that Norman St John-Stevas who was a Roman Catholic and part of Thatcher's government was prevented from standing for Tory party leader because he'd be unelectable as Prime Minister because of his religion.
Just think that this country will never truly take its place in the modern world with outdated **** like that, can you answer me this Frank, I'm assuming that at the time of the reformation there were no Muslim/Buddhist/Harri Krishna/Sikh/Hindu politians in Parliament at that time, so can a member of one of those religion's become British Prime Minister?
