This was posted on the Academy website a few weeks ago. "The Under-23s have bolstered their ranks with the double signing of Callum Smith and Jordan Hickey. Both players have penned one-year deals with the Club after impressing whilst on trial last season. Gateshead-born Smith was previously on the books at Newcastle United, where he impressed after breaking into the Magpies' Under-23s side at an early age. A positive left-sided player, Scott first joined the North-East outfit at the age of 11 and made two appearances in last season's Checkatrade Trophy against Crewe Alexandra and Port Vale, as well as featuring in 13 Premier League 2 games."
I haven't read this thread for almost a week, we're in the World Cup semi final and there's still about 50 pages of people bickering over who we're not going to sign. Who gives a ****? Allams out
Reminds me of what happened in the 90's, signing players from Scottish football. Bad memories. Whats Paul Hunter doing these days and Daryl Duffy. In fact those guys were probably better actually. Sad times. At least we got a PSV 3rd team player in anyway, happy days.
Andy Robertson was a bit **** wasn't he? Allan McGregor came from Scottish football originally. The difference now is, we have the scouting network and the reputation to attract the good ones, not the crappy ones. And I wouldn't call a Dutch U20s international who's played in the Champion's League a poor signing either.
Might be all this activity but ive actually ended up in hospital with heart attack..hopefully see you all in a few days.
Hang in there mate. I had one five years ago yesterday (aortic dissection actually)...pain was incredible before the doctors morphined me into oblivion. They told my wife if I came through the six hours surgery I would probably be brain damaged. A week later I was out of hospital and back working in a month. Today at 79 I feel great and enjoying the transfer activity!! Take care !!!
Take care, I've had two 10 years ago, and feel great these days, they can do marvellous things, I'm sure you are in good hand and will be fine. Get well soon.
