In WW2 the largest loss of life outside of London in one night, 900, was in Belfast. Hull lost 1,300 in 6 years.
In just 4 nights half of Belfast's housing stock was destroyed. So, yes it did survive World Wars. Though the regulars of that pub will have wanted the country doing the bombing to win the war.
