That was some second goal by Belgium. If they go through that could be a rather tasty semi final <yikes>

Are you on the jamaican woodbines?
I wont even bother telling you how you have most of these wrong but anyone go look at Lothar Matthaus and watch his pen drilled past Shilton to the left corner.

Running out of superlatives for this World Cup, magnificent, great hosts, no serious problems with fans, carnival atmosphere thanks to fans of the more exotic nations. Lost one of "Swan's Fancy Four", couldn't help it really as Belgium were playing Brazil, had to lose one of them of course. Super game, could barely watch the last 30-minutes! :emoticon-0100-smile

That was some game, Brazil missed a few good chances to get back to 2-2. Belgium are quality on the break.
Umtiti who is shockingly poor at the back for France will get run ragged in the semi.

Well, it's off to the beach to calm the nerves then back for the big match

Got the family coming over for the 'second' big game. Will be busy beforehand. Have despatched better half to get all products necessary for the "SwanHills Special Club Sandwich". A work of art if ever I saw one! <laugh> Damn, see I'm also out of cocktail sticks too, necessary item to stop the bloody things collapsing! Beer supplies adequate.
Must get to work, have a good day everyone! <cheers>

Each to their own pal. Like a budvar too just prefer the 'american pish' can drink it by the bucket load, refreshing and actually quenches thirst, not just a drink for alcohol consumption.

i'm sure there's no alcohol in it ! drunk it all night once , sober as in the morning , doesn't have any taste , no effect , what's it's use ? <laugh>

Like i said, each to their own. For me best tasting beer our there, love it and enjoy drinking it. Whats point in having a drink if you don't enjoy it? I can't stand the taste of coffee yet its the most popular drink in the world

World Cup trivia time... Here are a load of IFs:

IF Belgium beat France they will progress to the World Cup Final.

IF England beat Sweden, they will progress to the semi-final. IF England win their semi-final they will progress to the World Cup Final.

There have been two World Cup Finals between teams that were in the same Group at the start of the tournament: 1954 and 1962. Every other Final has been between two top-seeded teams (including hosts).

I hope your guide dog is not suffering too much in the heat. Do you work in the VAR booth?

You told me to watch the penalties online, so I did. I included two links to YouTube (other videos are available).

If you actually watch them and freeze the video at the point the ball crosses the line, you will see that Matthaus did hit the ball in the middle and it went under Shilton. When it hit the back of the net it rolled into the left corner.

Do your shoes have ‘L’ and ‘R’ on them? Half-way up the goal is not the corner. Clearly you want to redefine ‘high’ as anything more than a foot off the ground. Not sure how you would redefine ‘corner’.

Little point in arguing with you about your original statement being wrong on the grounds that I went and looked at the evidence (your suggestion), which you clearly did not expect me to do.
