How many loan signings are you allowed in a squad / team?
Under the new rules, Football League clubs will still be prohibited from selecting more than five loan players in their 18-man match-day squad. They will also be prevented from borrowing more than four players a season from any one club, and no more than two over the age of 23.17 Feb 2016

I'd agree and also say that signing Gunn for a year would send a message to PBF that he's still in the plans and let them fight for the jersey. Signing an established No 1 like Stockdale basically tells PBF that he's not in the plans for a couple of years.

I'd prefer Gunn for that reason and so that we're not relying on PBF in case he has a wobble.
Can see that argument... here’s a counter one. Gunn would probably have ‘must play’ terms in his deal... stockdale would be a fair fight, for a place. On recent form it would be one bpf has a good chance of winning.

Thing is bpf needs games... if he’s not going to be number 1, he’d be better off on loan (preferably) or flogged. But why offload your prospect to develop someone else’s who MAY be a bit better and is a bit more experienced. I keep hearing bpf played no pressure games. I think that’s C*ck personally but I hear it. Gunn played a season in a permanently mid table Norwich team... hardly a pressure cooker. Is he that much better? Or that much readier for a season at elland road? Dunno

Understand that view, but if this is the season we are going to go for it and the Manager thinks Gunn may get us a couple of extra points,we have to go with it.We only have maybe 2 seasons of going for it after that we will have to cut costs again if we don't get promoted. There can't be any half hearted going for it,we already know what happens when we do that.

I said before, Gunn is on the fringes of the England squad and training with them. The City keeper Ederson is 24, there's no way he (Gunn) will make their 1st team unless he leaves. If Gunn is that good and we get promoted he may chose to join. I know BPF is 'homegrown' so everyone has a sentimentality for that but if we want promotion and then be successful in the premiership then we need to get ruthless, maybe an unpopular view, but IMHO it is definitely time we did it.

Get those points entirely. You want the best side on the pitch you can get... and Gunn is a ‘safer’ option.

My point is if you take him you probably have to play him and you may therefore need to be looking for a number 2 as well. These things don’t happen in a vacuum. If there was a loan to buy element to it... or a good chance he’d sign permanently then there’s a stronger argument for it.

I think BPF is being judged too highly, yes he looked great compared to the other two muppets but is he better than average? I don’t disagree he will get better, he probably needs game time too but there is a sense we are going for it this season and I don’t believe BPF is better than average at this present moment in time.

Nope, **** it. Been in this division too bloody long (and lower). I will take the best we can get to get promoted. Anyone in the squad can **** off if their not happy with that. I don't want to stay another 10 years in the 2nd division (let's call it as it is) just for some romantic notion that BPF can become the new Manuel Neuer. Ion he's the best he plays, if not......

Now if we were gonna get someone on loan to replace Cooper or Ekuban. that would make sense, because they're ****ing crap

Not sure you interpreted my post as intended. I don’t particularly disagree london. IF we are going for it. It’s a manager and a lot of conjecture so far.

As for if he’s the best he plays... no beef with that... providing it is actually a level playing field... Man city will be expecting Gunn to play.
