On the Norwich board they say according to the Telegraph he’s going to have a medical at Leicester .
Telegraph details are basically the same as sky's except he probably used a Leicester source (northern reporter) so didn't know we also had a bid accepted. That article doesn't mention Southampton. The sun are the only people saying Leicester have beaten us although the sun were the ones to break the original story so it may hold some weight for once.

Although the Sun article does say he was having a medical 'later today' at 11.35 PM Yesterday <doh>
I'll assume that was just **** journalism and he means today rather than yesterday.

They are testament to the fact we can produce and nuture top young talent so worthwhile mentioning them.

Only player leicester have signed that has moved on to bigger and better things is Kante? Yes mahrez will this summer but it is pretty clear we are a better club than leicester to be at for young players wanting to develop.

I dont understand how anyone would disagree.

They did win the league a couple of seasons ago.
That was an unusual season and they hit top form. Not going to happen again anytime soon. And we practically won it for them...gave them points, but took a lot of points off their rivals. :) There was that season and the season before when the top sides weren't being consistent....shame we couldn't take advantage.

Yup. Nail, head. But a team who won the EPL vs a team who narrowly avoided relegation? As a neutral I can see why he chose them. Also they got in therefirst with a serious offer.

I guess we can blame less and the board pontificating over a couple of M and couple K a week.

We had our offer accepted. Maddison decided to go to Leicester over us. Not much you can do about that.

We have no idea who got in first and definitely have no idea whether money was the deciding factor. I'm actually quite happy to see the fish we are swimming with...not bad if we are even considering a player priced at 20-25 mill. Whilst it is always possible to get a gem at far less than that, it does give us some idea of funds available.

This was my fear when TV money started increasing. To my understanding the reason we managed to sign a lot of the players we did was that we tended to bid more than other teams for them (Mane, Wanyama, VVD, Gaston off the top of my head). This made us the selling clubs preferred team as they got more money. This meant that we didn't have to compete with other clubs when it came to wages as we tend to offer less than our "rivals". With the TV money going up unless we switched our bidding in line with inflation or whatever you want to call it all the teams would match our offers and we would struggle to attract the players ahead of them as they offer more money.

I'm not really blaming the board about this, just saying that our old model of chucking a couple of mil onto what everyone else was willing to offer isn't going to work now as £20m isn't a big fee anymore. Times have changed from a few years ago and we need to either change with them or find a different model.

No. Given we have been on a downward spiral for the last one and a half seasons; we are not longer an attractive proposition to burgeoning talent. We stagger on!

Leicester haven't exactly been setting the world alight in the last few seasons. Not much between 8th downwards, as we all know.

That maybe true but most importantly they pay more than we do which is the biggest issue that pursued payers to chose which club to go to
We will only get players if no other premiership club are interested
