Has anyone seen this lad play?

He is on loan to Oldham Athletic <The Huddersfield Examiner, referring to the Oldham striker as a "Human wrecking ball!">, and seems to be doing well.

He is a 6ft1 French lad.

    I also wondered this aswell?

Against chelsea we had no reserve striker on the bench but had Colback and Cook to come on?

Surely the club has another striker? Who plays up front for the reserves? Why not give them a chance on the bench?

Maybe worth recalling Tounkara and give him a chance if needed.

Aye, when the Traitor's sale suddenly emerged an Oldham fan came on the 606 board to ask us not recall him. As you say he seems to be progressing well there and appears to be valued.

He scored in Oldham's 3 - 0 win over Notts County, could of done with that.

It's difficult to get definitive stats on him:

The Oldham Athletic website state he's scored 3 league goals in 10 starts (no sub appearances) for the first team
The BBC state he's scored 4 league goals
And wikipedia states 7 goals in 26 appearances (presumably includes reserves).

In either case, Oldham are in the play off places in League One and Tounkara's progressing.

If I remember correctly he went crazy in our reserve and youth team last season picking up a goals total SKP would have been proud of.

As for next year, I would like to see him play some role in our first team, perhaps as a regular last 15min man.

I wish I had a sauce like Big Chris, it seems to know everything about everything!

Then again, I wouldn't have a chance would I Chris, seeing as I don't live in Sunderland therefore cannot be a real fan?

    Stupid Prick......

Chris info is incorrect on this, as there IS a recall clause, 'no recall' loans involve a fee and full payment of wages, Oldham didn't go for this option.

Tounkara is however a bit unpolished, and would be best served seeing out the season down there, and seeing how he gets on in the summer training with our first team.

i can confirm a recall clause IS in the loan agreement. the loan agreement terms you quote are up to the parent club and sunderland may not have taken up the option to ask for a fee as it is for the lads development.

Nope, you have to request a 'no recall' clause, it's at the 'parent' clubs discretion as to whether it's in place.

A 'parent' club, on a standard player loan, has the right to recall at ANY TIME.

Ask your 'source' Chris, or consult the FA website, it'll tell you sll about the rules.

the rules you quote state IF. so its not a set rule you fool. this particular loan took place with no fee and no wage paying as we as a club feel his development is important and it was a great move for him. its at discretion of the club
