Play most days - me and my eldest lad between us have
Vintage electric, Fender Bullet '81, Suzuki acoustic, Yamaha 12 string, Fender Acousticaster plus another 3-4 cheaper acoustic and electric guitars
Some are mine and some are his but we just pool them together.
The Fender Bullet I've had since I bought it from Gough & Davy in 1981. The Suzuki since 88-ish and the Yahama since the mid-90's
The Suzuki is my favourite - still a great guitar 30 years on.
I like to mess around with alternate tunings and capos - you can get some lovely resonant chords that make a change from your everyday
G C D Em etc on standard tuning.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, I don't understand the attraction of the Fender, it is the most sucessful guitar on Earth, ubiquitous I think the word is, and I have only owned a cheap knock off version, but I would still prefer to own either a Gretch, or dream of dreams a Rickenbacker 6 or 12 string, and I own neither, nor am I likely too.

Bass guitar and double bass player gigging 2-3 times a week. Using Rickenbacker 4003, Hofner Violin 'Beatle' bass and Music Man Stingray for pop rock band gigs and the double bass with a big band/dance orchestra.

The quasi Wham performance in the second appearance is rather amusing and very dated.
If you google him he's had a pretty decent musical/acting career, although seems to have gone quiet the last few years.
I'm the opposite. 3 colour sunburst strat is "the one" for me.
For me overdriven amp, slight bit of delay and reverb and the front pickup of a Strat is music to my ears(pun intended

Been playing for 46 years, still improving but a long way to go. Have played in 4 bands at different times but not for a while. Play most days, blues rock and the like, have rather a lot of guitars cos I really like them. Bought a Gibson Custom shop Les Paul when I retired last year, very nice but debatable whether it was worth the money.
Taught myself to strum major chords on acoustic years ago. So can work my way through most 'songbooks' but I have no ear whatsoever. I sadly find playing quite boring now. I set myself a challenge to learn to fingerpick this winter, but just haven't bothered. Mrs A bought me a beautiful semi acoustic many years ago, it looks lovely on it's stand.
I realise that I am at the wrong end of the spectrum, (pun intended) when it comes to guitar playing when I look on YouTube at some of the fantastic players of such a young age. Some are beyond incredible, and a lot are girls, they have such slender fingers, superb for playing the guitar. Whereas I have chip butty type digits and so am not a lead guitarist in any shape or form. Still I still think I can knock out a good tune, limited agreed, and I do write lyrics, as to whether they are any good, goodness knows.
I have bass envy!

I play a Fender Jazz, a Vintage electro acoustic bass and a pink paisley Fender Precision (which is actually my daughter’s but I’m the only one that played it for years because it’s good for breast cancer awareness gigs
Also have a Tanglewood electro acoustic 6 string and a Marlin Stingray 6 string courtesy of RonGuv and a 6 string semi acoustic of unspecified origin
And assorted bits of small percussion (but not drums)

6 and 12-string acoustics (Applause and Ashton), Squier Precision bass and a super cheap Strat copy I bought 35 years ago through a Marshall 40W valve amp. Hardly ever get to play and in fact I'm about to do my Grade 1 piano in a couple of weeks.
But I've always wanted a Les Paul. I can't justify spending that kind of cash on a guitar (so I'm told) so I've been looking at alternatives and seen lots of good things being written about Harley Benton guitars.
Anyone got any experience of them?

Get yourself a Vintage (the brand) Les Paul. Save a fortune. Excellent guitars.
