Strange he only made 8 appearances this season...

8 starts I believe, rather than just 8 appearances.

Dembele and Dier is a very solid, and quality, CM (you could argue that Dembele has replaced Kante as the best CM in the whole league). Tough for Victor to get in ahead of those two.

He also missed half the season with a fairly serious knee injury, and they worked him back into the lineup quite cautiously thereafter. He started quite frequently late in the year, and I'd expect him to be a regular next season.

I recall MoPo saying that Dembele is in the top 4 of the best players he has either played with or managed, his problems seem to be more about attitude or applying himself

You can still sign players and get business done for international transfers, like Brighton who have announced a signing from Deportivo.

Andone is a nice signing, exactly the kind of player we would have signed about three years ago. Brighton could be building a solid team over there.

Don't mind players going if we want them to leave in order to get more suitable players in. Bertrand is the only player likely to be seriously sought by teams hard to resist. I think we will be able to keep others that are under contract and that we want to keep. So a mass clear out under our control (if that is even likely) is not the same as a Viking raid from top teams.

That’s crazy.. why would would we loose that many first team players? We should let a max of 2 or 3 go.

Indeed. What people might want or expect, is always different to reality.

Almost every club has deadwood. Whether that's players who aren't good enough, or players who on too high wages. But none of them shift all it over the course of just one summer.

We might have one, maybe two, taken from us (although I personally doubt that). We might choose to let one, maybe two, leave. But that will be it. We need to sign at least three players as it is. There's no way we're going to put in ourselves in a position where we need to be signing eight, nine, ten players all in the same window.

Not sure what effect MH getting the managerial job will have but expect Cedric and Bertrand to be taken as I don't think any off us would want them to go.
Not sure why a top 6 club would actually take Cedric tbh, he a decent defensively although very suspect in the air and his crossing is a little bit hit and miss (putting it politely). I think he is at the correct level for his ability. Rumours that Manure are after him is laughable as he would sink into the pit of failed players that fills up every year with dreams of glory gone wrong

So judging by your first sentence we can completely disregard your last paragraph?!

Who knows what's going to happen...whatever does it should be interesting. Im particularly interested in what will happen with Carrillo, not that I was overly impressed with what I saw of him - though I didn't think he was terrible either, but at the same time it's not like he had loads of game time. Did Hughes just not play him because he thinks he's awful or that we needed instant results pretty much to stay up so opted for the more tried and tested? And with a whole season (plus a pre season) to play with we may be able to bed him in properly and get the best out of him, in whatever capacity that might be. If we do just get rid, it's another record transfer fee that hasn't panned out for one reason or another. We'll get one right one of these days!

I'm not wholly convinced that all of them would need replacing with an equal number of players. If we moved both Long and Carrillo, as an example, a single (good!) striker could suffice, with the academy providing a backstop in case of emergency. We need a central defender regardless; if we shipped out Stephens, I'm not sure we'd suddenly need two central defenders, with the emergence of Bednarek as a credible option.

We aren't going to sell 8-9 players, but we should be comfortable moving more out than we take in, so long as it's the lesser pieces moving out.
