True. I was having a stroll in town the other week and hadn't realised it was Changing of the Guard. No matter how you look at it it is pretty impressive.
Popped inside where it was on in between drinks. Looked like a lot of bollocks to me. Sort of sport for people who don’t like sport á la Wimbledon. Philip is clearly being kept alive artificially with a device not available to us serfs.
I agree - the work he and William have done over mental health awareness, for example has been great. Really good to see them using their status for something so important.
Such cynicism. Thankfully the thousands who lined the streets and nearly 2 billion who watched worldwide have what you clearly lack...... A sense of occasion and history.
I have no doubt they’re both fabulously lovely people. If people wish to fawn over them they’re very welcome to. Just not my thing. Hope you enjoyed waving a little flag. Do you go jam then cream or cream then jam for your scone?
What is it then? A bloke married a woman. She’s fit. He has to pretend Prince Charles is his dad. Let me know what I’ve missed.
I know they argue about the right and wrong way in Devon and Cornwall. I didn't know youall in West Windsor did it at all, but maybe you put the scone on the top?
Yeah, thought you'd be impressed, Oz. I'll try and sneak a North Korean denuclearisation post onto a match day thread
I’m aware of the occasion and the history. Just don’t feel the need to fawn over James Hewitt’s son bagging the bird from Suits. Hope they have a lovely day and there are enough cucumber sandwiches to go around.
I’ll settle for the resemblance Harry has to Prince Philip when a young man, WWR. I agree he does also look like Hewitt, but cannot believe the Royal Family could’ve kept that secret for 30 years. They’d have quietly DNA tested him years ago and I guess were satisfied. Had his heritage been from outside of the Family I can’t see why they’d have chosen ‘bury it’ over coming clean. At the time it would’ve been a great opportunity to further discredit Diana when it was all falling apart so spectacularly anyway. Anyway, he comes across as a top bloke who’s carved out a decent niche for himself in his championing of disabled former servicemen etc. I wish him and his new bride well.
Yes he seems to be a great bloke. Hope they knock out some Wes Brown babies, Wills dies before Charles and Harry takes the throne.
Likewise, they are a likeable couple. It has also just struck me that this may be the last ‘big’ royal wedding of my lifetime. Col, I didn’t think there was anything anti the occasion on here, at least not when your original post went up. Just a little light mockery of the US preacher, who had nothing to do with British pageantry. Windsor, and the Long Walk in particular, looked spectacular today. The only thing which has irritated me over the last few days is the sheer number of BBC ‘journalists’ and presenters involved, adding nothing.
