that would be very interesting. I heard people say we overpay for medicines (i.e. they cost a fraction to make) but i guess they need that mark up to fund the R&D side of things.
Remember the good old days when a chicken curry was a cheap meal after a night at the pub. Now you have to make reservations and wear a tie!
"Les Ferdinand says Steve McClaren’s ability to develop players was the main reason for him being appointed by Queens Park Rangers. The former England boss has taken over as manager from Ian Holloway, who was sacked by the west London club last week. McClaren is well respected as a coach and Rangers are keen for him to work with the youngsters at Loftus Road, some of whom impressed last season. “He has a fantastic reputation in the game for coaching and developing players,” director of football Ferdinand told the club’s website. “When you look at the average age of our squad, and the exciting young talent starting to emerge, he is the perfect fit for us. “We want Steve to use his expertise and experience to help our players grow. “We are delighted with this appointment and, speaking with Steve, I know how excited he is to be here and how determined he is to be a success.” McClaren, whose last managerial job was at Derby County, has signed a two-year contract with the R’s. He has also managed Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Nottingham Forest, FC Twente and Wolfsburg, having initially made his name as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant at Manchester United."
I’ve been apathetic about the Royal Wedding for flipping ages, but put the box on this morning and now I’m hooked, What’s happening to me?
I've started looking at it. The black vicar's banging on a bit. I don't have a clue what he's on about.
Yeah, I liked him for the first 3 hours of his sermon, but the last 4-5 hours have got boring. I think Love is the way, is the main thrust of things.
The wife has it in the telly. I am bracing myself for the traditionalist backlash about this yank preacher banging on for 8 hours. Fortunately I have the ability to be selectively deaf when it comes to sermons, and had a second breakfast during the interlude. Shame that the lead singer on Stand by Me missed the opportunity to kick off with ‘now I’m gonna get up and do my thang’ a la James Brown. And Sex Machine would have been a much funkier choice.
Mmm.....much sarcasm. No one was forced to watch. Not another Country on earth can do pomp and ceremony like us. A fantastic spectacle.
Your wish has been granted. It was in fact less than 30 minutes. Now we can all get back to the remaining hours of inane chatter about dresses, celebrity appearances and commentary about nothing of any great importance.
In fairness, sarcasm is a British tradition too, Col. Yeah, a great British occasion was that. But thought it was very much a case of the younger Royals saying ‘our time is coming’ in terms of the tone of the thing.
