Clinton N'Jie on, as a second half sub,for Marseille, who are 0-2 down.

He's gonna get sent off, based on his current complete loss of his rag.

Addendum: On 85 minutes, he's just mishit the worst effort I've seen in years. Dreadful.

Really enjoyed watching Atleti play. Every single player works so hard for their teammates, I know that's what Poch tries doing with us but this Atleti side are on another level. So many times yesterday when Marseille had the ball, you'd see at least 2-3 Atleti players immediately bombard them to win back possession. Phenomenal work rate and a credit to their team and manager, Simeone has built a world class side there just on work rate alone let alone the actual world class talent they have in their squad - it's rare to see such brilliant technical players graft so hard like that. It's no wonder they've had so much success under Simeone, even when they have Barca and Real to compete with.

They are what we need to look towards. They've no right to compete with some of the teams they have to compete with.........yet they do. Fantastic recruitment.....Griezman, Aguero, Diego Costa, Falcao, Mandzukic, David Villa. Sell one for a fortune, buy in an excellent replacement. It can be done....but it ain't easy.

They bought Toby and deemed him not good enough - that's impressive.

Yeah they absolutely nail their recruitment, whoever does their scouting should be the second highest paid at the club after Simeone. Crazy how much success they have with signings.

<laugh>! Godin and Miranda were some partnership, though. Probably fair to say Godin is actually the best CB on the planet right now, bloke's a monster at the back.

When it comes to forwards, Atletico IMHO have
made a pact with the devil. Truly obscene the
number of class forwards they have unearthed in
    the past 15 years.

Saved only by Jackson Martinez.....or 'The Lemon' as he should be known. He looks much more like a Llorente, Vinnie, Soldado, Adebayor type of signing.

Had one nightmare season which probably crocked him forever and they still made a profit on him, somehow.

Martínez is available on a free as of right now as his contract was terminated. Excluding the injuries, he may not be a bad pick up.

The thing that should be easy is identifying a replacement...we don't seem to do that. We do but we end up with Clinton and George.

Someone needs firing at Spurs, can't quite put my finger on who.

I hear we have a Transfer Committee of sorts...they need to be the first to go.

We don't take risks....a risk could have landed us a Salah..we got the money, we paid more for a Centreback. The whole world knew about Sissoko and his limitations....we still spent 30 mill on him. I think Levy plays the Moneyball game too much and we must have some serious **** as scouts

Scouts need fireing and replacing with those of Poch's choice

It's tough to say, we seem to have huge successes and huge failures, we rarely get anything in the middle these days.

For every Alli, Dier, Dave, Jan, Toby and Eriksen, there's been a ****ing Sissoko, Soldado, Paulinho, Llorente, Njie and Nkoudou.

The one sort of positive we can take at the moment is that of all of the strongest links so far, the players we're getting linked with are of a really high calibre/ pedigree - Milinkovic-Savic, Immobile, Pulisic and de Ligt. As long as I don't see any more unknown youngsters from Ligue 1, I'll be relatively happy lol.

You'll see a lot more unknown players linked with
Spurs once you install "Google Rose" on your browser.

It doesn't mean it's acceptable, that's a lot of wasted money, I can handle the odd flop but that's too much wasted money. I think clubs under value players psyches plus don't seem to buy players that fit the system. That's me being generous and looking for an excuse. Who the **** saw anything ever in Clinton and George to suggest he was going to help us go up a notch? Or maybe we were looking for squad fillers? In which case we need to stop dreaming and Levy needs to be honest. Paulinho seems fine at Barca. Sissoko does for us what he has been doing all his career which was never going to be what we need. I think he does a job and I don't really mind him tbh but we didn't buy him to serve that purpose.

I'm not blaming the players, all these players have done jobs at other clubs. Which idiot is picking them for us? He needs to go.

  20. Looks like Milinkovic-Savic is on his way to United for €80m........... somewhat out of our league unfortunately! And the Goons appear to be in pole position for Seri......
Hope we don’t end up with the leftovers...... <yikes>
