Once it has decided on the roles he wants people to take at the Riverside, Gibson hopes his plan will lead to a triumphant return to the top flight.

"The club is well run and we're in a good financial state so we will have more resources going into next season than any other Championship club.

"We will smash the league next year. We want to go back up as champions."

I was an average Sunday league winger but I was pretty good at putting the ball in the mixer . I don't understand why so many of these highly paid pros cannot achieve it . Never ever in my wildest dreams did I think we would win at Spuds, Arsenal etc and go to China. And all done on a fraction of the budget that Brucey had.

Emotionally there is no one to match Brownies achievements.

But factually and statistically Bruce was more successful. 2 promotions, 1 F A Cup and the **** up in Europe, but Europe none the less.

And statistically, Brownie 33.12% cf Bruce 41.29%.

My personal favourites were Nobby Horton and Nigel Pearson, followed by Bruce and Brownie in that order.
