I don’t know if Burton has overtaken Mannion, but he was preferred on the bench and Mannion played for the U23s. Mind you, Mannion did alright against Doncaster in the cup.

I haven’t been to many U23 games this season, maybe John could tell us who the better keeper is?

Hasn't mannion gone out on loan? I'm may be dreaming or making it up, but I'm sure he did

The signings should, in theory, start sooner because we have a lot less time.

But of course, just because the window closes sooner doesn't mean we won't be scrabbling around at the end of it.

I thought Sunderland and Rodwell had come to an agreement to release him in January and he is now a free agent ?

He's still there, but I think they've got him training with the kids, he's not played since November.

He gets a 40% pay cut now they're in League One, but he'll still be on £44k a week and they'll obviously try and get rid in the summer.

It’s an odd situation with Marshall, especially considering he’s been picked for national duty over Alan recently, despite only playing cup games for us. We can’t afford two home international players as keepers, at least one has to go - which probably means both knowing Ehab.

Jak has at least made the bench for Leicester with Scmeichel being injured, but he’s gone from our number 1 to a spectator. Hope the pay is good.

McGregor has been No.1 choice for Scotland recently, Marshall wasn't even in the squad.

Actually, we’re both right and wrong, Gordon was first choice for the WC qualifiers with Marshall and McGregor splitting bench duties. McGregor was first choice for the friendlies last month as you said.

(Perils of being married to a Scot means I know more about Scottish football than I need to know).
