I get your point but I feel that @humanbeingincroydon has an even better one. Yes, they had a magnificent start to the season but from then on it's as if the entire country just swallowed all the legends, myths and fables being spun by the media and pundits and just rolled over and played dead. We were appalling up at the Etihad but I didn't read too much into it because we had 4 or 5 key players out injured. Chelsea's 1-0 defeat to them recently just epitomises HBIC's point. You're the defending champions FFS with a squad containing clearly talented players. Have a ****ing go at least. Bottom line is, Liverpool are the only team in the league to have taken them on with confidence and belief and look at the result. If teams had copied their example earlier in the season perhaps they wouldn't be so far ahead. It could be that Pool are just their bogey team - much like West Ham are somehow ours. But it could just as likely be that Pep has run certain players into the ground and has an ageing unreliable defense who do NOT like it when teams run at them. I'll reserve judgement until our game against them in a fortnight. Kane and Wanyama should be fully fit by then so it'll be a much more even contest. If we lose again, I'll eat a slice of pie. If we win - and win convincingly - I'm afraid we will have exposed the other 17 teams in the league as a bunch of mugs who take the likes of Robbie Savage seriously.
What does effectiveness have to do with style of play? Your own fans never stop criticising the dull football of Checkbook Allardyce.
And you believe him Did you watch us under van Gaal or do you never watch other teams and just believe what they read like so many others
Peter Schmeichel called you boring. Scholes and Ferdinand slagged off the negative approach. Articles like this get written whenever he's not doing well: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...nchester-united-alienation-philosophy-tactics He's always been that way. It's bizarre to hear someone protest so much about it, honestly.
It's bizarre to hear a supporter of a team who are below us and have won less games (whilst scoring a massive 2 more goals) think we park the bus and their team play some kind of great football Really, watch some games other teams play in and stop reading
Boo hoo, yeah let's get them in the semi, who have Spurs ever played in the semi-final of Europe's premier competition? Exactly, so dry the tears and understand that even if we do get through and draw Barca we've got a record in the competition that Spurs can't and will never match.
