Depends how you define market rate. Outside of the elite sides with more financial clout than us, are there many clubs substantially paying their players more than what we pay ours? I genuinely don't know but I doubt it. Besides, as I said in a previous post, we (supposedly, according to Levy in a recent meeting) pay the highest bonuses in the Prem, so providing a player is playing regularly and playing well, there's every possibility they'll be taking home parity to what many other big earners in the division do.

Liverpool pay a bit more I think for their top players and they are doing I would say on par with spurs and Ian sure was paid 1.2m in 2016.

However you slice and dice it levy is taking the mick. He has done well though. Tbh I probably wouldn't be as harsh but you can't go preaching about running a type ship and then doubling your own wages

Oh sorry Bobby..is their only your version of running a tight ship?

Levy doesn't own Spurs, Enic do...the way he has helped our club advance, I won't begrudge him a wage rise and it seems like nor does Joe Lewis.

Levy can and spurs fans will still kiss his arse, because he’s overseen a construction project <rofl>

That construction project will be the next excuse used for not paying his players the wages they are demanding.

We are not far now so yeah that extra windfall would propel us, not rocket science mate.

Sure. When you’re in your new stadium your match day revenue will be on a par with the big clubs and your sponsorship deals should follow.

So we’ll sit back and watch you pay your players the going rate and ‘bag the league every year’ as a result :)

Might want to have a word with your fans who aren't happy with him or the impending player wage crisis <whistle>

I suppose at this point you will praise Wenger and justify his 8m a year contract or whatever it is. Single handedly got them a new stadium and improved them

Fair point, but £6m ? That’s the highest paid chairman in the PL. surely the players have helped your club advance deserve a 100% pay rise too ?

And won trophies mate <ok>

Sounds like not winning the league next year will mean that they have failed badly.

I'm expecting some very hurtful spud fans here....

See this is your problem Bobby, not mine. I'm not comparing Spurs to Arsenal. It's not my job to praise Wenger. All I know is I don't begrudge Levy a wage rise.

That's your own view and that's fine.

Most people think he's taking the piss doubling his own salary so hes the highest paid whilst (on paper) whilst telling everyone they can't pay them more because the club's skint

Next year is their year. And every year after that. We have it on @Spurlock assessment that the extra money will bag them the league every year <rofl>

Might be something else in store for them..whenever they were all getting their contracts bumped up...Levy wasn't crying that he isn't getting one. Everyone has their turn...now it's Levy's. I'm sure the players will get a nice payday when they reach a few more milestones.

Maybe Levy was promised a wage rise on seeing the stadium through...it's more or less happening. Financial year has started, the man has got a wage rise.

I guess the devil is in the detail. Levy has doubled his wages to the highest paid man in the PL, can any of your players expect anything like a 100% pay rise ?

Liverpool are a bigger club with bigger finances than us and thus come under the bigger financial clout bracket that I mentioned.

I don’t begrudge Levy for hiking up his pay. He’s the one that’s put the club in a position to do so. The contracts for players and staff will follow - again, as I’ve said already, many of our key players are supposedly set to be offered new deals if reports are to be believed, along with a bumper new deal for Poch.

I'm worried for you fam. I don't want you going the way of the arse fans

Don't worry mate...I dont think you quite understand how unless you are financially doped, like your club was, that things can take time.

Wait for us to do wha we are trying to achieve instead of judging us on the plight of Arsenal fans for the past decade....makes no sense to me.
